Yes. I wouldn't walk too far to the north, but other than that, pretty safe. Mostly we just have thieves...no one would hassle you.

Yes, and will probably see someone walking their dog....these people don't sleep...

Sure.
shuhak · M
Sure. Just don't make eye contact with the bears (always share your food with them), be polite to the mountain lions (smile and wave), watch out for stampeding deer (they don't use sidewalks), and try not to trip over any foxes or raccoon families (that's just rude).

Yes, I think so.
So many times I came home by 2am after early night shift and it is peaceful.
Neighbourhood is good.

Very, I've done it even when fully dressed, or on a few occasions just sexy lingerie and an open coat.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
Not sure. New neighborhood - I'm still observing and learning, but will probably be packing if I do go out after dark. The previous neighborhood was fine until the last couple years or so when it became....just okay-ish. I walked safely after dark often until then. Night time was always a quiet and peaceful time for a stroll.

Yes, I live a nice and quiet area
TexChik · F
Yep . My county is one of the safest in Texas. The police and SD have a rep for tuning a perp up … which has led to a low crime rate.

As long as you avoid the puddles, very much so.

Yes but live in country
UnderLockDown · M
Mostly. There were government apartments opened about 2 blocks away and it hasn't improved the neighborhood... 🤬
Recently had someone following me, threatening to "Just shoot" me, at 2am. I don't think he had a gun though. When I walked behind the library, making it clear that I had a hickory axe handle, he decided not to follow me. 🤷♂😈😆

@UnderLockDown PLEASE stay safe!!! Do not go out early in the morning if there are crazies nearby!!!!
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Certainly, but be armed.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Yes. Actually it's safe for me to leave my doors wide open through the night.
I often do this when we have a week or so of hot weather.

👀 it's completely dark unless the moon is out or a car comes down the road, which is a route into town with no houses on the other side of the road. There's no walkway beside the road.
Walk around the neighborhood is tough to do. I can go up the street or down but definitely not around.
I could wonder across the neighborhood yards in the dark but also trip and fall.
From a crime safe aspect I would say yes because it's not a place anyone randomly wonders or stroles by. A jogger or bike rider has been seen risking the narrow road edge but it's not something they are doing that at night.
Plus it's a place where you can hear the neighbors shooting fire arms in their own backyard target range.
Wow that question spun a lot of thought.
I hope I didn't bore anyone getting to the safe part.
My best suggestion is if you were here would be don't wonder far in the dark because you might come across a rare fox or crazy rabid raccoon or even the extremely rare lost black bear.
Or just fall over something and have no one hear you call for help because you are here and the closest neighbor is way over there.

I have walked from the train station at 0130 a few times and hardly seen anyone. I think it's pretty safe.

Probably
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
No telling what is creeping around that time of night around here. Too many transients wandering around looking for things to steal for one thing. If I did take a walk I’d bring the boy (and he has classes in the morning so not during the week) and I’d bring a flashlight…because there could be snakes crawling around in the dark. I was told about 30 years ago to not even leave the patio door open at night if I lived on a 2nd floor balcony. It was a nurse who road on an ambulance and would pick up rape victims. She said they could find ways to get up on balconies and could open windows if they were left cracked a bit at night.

Yes, I'm in a gated community in a village where crime is low. I got back from my niece's wedding at about 2AM, and walked the dog when I got home....didn't see anyone else.

Only thing there is dark and critters.......... well maybe a few could eat ya
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M

Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
There's not really any place to go here at 2:00 in the morning except for maybe the gas station.
I would say it's relatively safe.

No it's not. We don't have any sidewalks. There are very few street lights. We also have canals so there are alligators around. I wouldn't walk in my neighborhood at 2 am.
UnderLockDown · M
@Musicman 🤓 Sounds wonderful! 😆 I wouldn't try to pet any gators, but the scenery would be nice.
