@Nimbus Not really. People like myself have no time. Others might have social anxiety, or no opportunity to meet new people, etc.
The world is a more dangerous place than it used to be. Socializing online eliminates the danger of physical harm, unless one reveals all their personal information.
Plus, internet social networks allow us to meet people from all over the world, which is great. :)

@Degbeme When people are so insane they’re a danger to themselves and others, we lock them up in a facility for safe keeping.
But when they’re just disturbed enough to be off putting but not dangerous, we just get them on a social media to keep tabs and let them argue with each other rather than mumbling to themselves on the subway.
