@TheOthetAcc well....it did ..but it taught me who I don't want to be
bookerdana · M
My Dad told the jokes and stories but my Mom laughed and amused us,growing up
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@bookerdana Sound's like a healthy upbringing
bookerdana · M
@TheOthetAcc It was the best🤗
calicuz · 51-55, M
Neither, Dad was working all the time and Mom was always yelling at us. 🤷
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
The one who stayed 😉

She was a riot!
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@ImpeccablyImperfect oof. Is that where you get your dark humor from? So sorry by the way
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@TheOthetAcc oh nothing to be sorry for. I had a wonderful life. 😉
They were both fun, but in different ways. Mom was outgoing, she and I had music in common, we both played the piano and I could talk to her about that, she also enjoyed finding adventures and we did some traveling together. She and my father traveled all over the world after they retired.

Pop has always been rather quiet and low-key but has a wonderful deadpan sense of humor that still surprises people. Some of my best childhood memories were him teaching me to play chess and watching late night tv together, shows like The Twilight Zone, The Prisoner and One Step Beyond.
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Sounds like you were raised in a happy home. That's awesome
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@bijouxbroussard
Sounds like you had really nice parents
Musicman · 61-69, M
My mom. My dad was a real stick in the mud. All he ever wanted to do was work.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@TheOthetAcc My mom passed about 5 years before my dad. His neighbor lost her husband so they started dating for the company. One time I had come down to visit. As I was getting set to leave my dad went to shake my hand. She said that's your only son. Give him a hug. He thought about it, but he just couldn't do it. Not even with her pushing him.
Really · 80-89, M
@Musicman In my parents' generation no males hugged or vocalised about love for each other.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Really I believe it.
BobbyMoeven · 51-55, M
My parents have never been intentionally fun or funny ..

But there are things they have said and done in the past that has had me in tears ...... Laughing 😂 .

Take my dad for instance ...

One year he took us tobogganing to our local park. The hill has a ravine at the bottom so you have to bail or , or else ..

Welll , we all cajoled my dad to get on a sled . He was dressed for the office more than sledding ...Well, he made it to the bottom ,and into the ravine he went ...

We all collapsed with laughter , as he left the slopes soaked head to toe.. .. He was not amused .🤣🤣

Parents ... So damn precious sometimes .
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
Wasn't my dad, he was the beater, the abuser and so on

My mom was she did things with us, but you can tell she really didn't want to have kids.

She taught us the basics stuff and made sure we went to school. Then when when we turned 18 she thrown us out on own.

18th birthday came, got a card with a hundred bucks and it said. You have two weeks to find a place of your own.

That was my life
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@HumanEarth Damn
. Well you made it so that good but I wonder how your relationship with your parents turned out once you left?
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
My mom died shortly few years later from MS
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
They were both fun but I’ll say my mom because she didn’t work and had more time
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
My mom, but both my dad and mom are ex protest attending hippies so they're both cool.
Ducky · 31-35, F
My dad. He's always been a laid back jokester, in contrast to my stern, no-nonsense mom.
My dad, also the most irresponsible tho.
craig7 · 70-79, M
Both were,but in different ways.Although my father took life pretty seriously a lot of the time,he could enjoy himself,told jokes and had many real-life funny stories,even from his time on active service during World War 2.He and my mother had a good life together until his sudden death after 26 years of marriage.
Ontheroad · M
Humor and fun was not a thing with either of them.
Anniedlr · 26-30, F

TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@ExperienceDLT I completely understand. Me dad was the same
Neither was particularly fun.
Mom more than dad.
There are some wild stories about my dad when he was younger...but he was a curmudgeon most of my life.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Dad, we did everything together ,hunting, camping , etc. Mom had poor health in my teens so it was always the two of us while she stayed home
They both had the moments.

Depends who's scolded me for me to run to the other 🤣🤣

But definitely mum though
Mudkip · 31-35, M
My dad, my mom was more strict. But when she's in the mood, she can laugh like no one's business lol
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Mom was definitely the fun one....Dad was very serious and rarely exhibited his sense of humor.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
My mother. Not fun in that sense though.
exchrist · 31-35

tfan123 · 41-45, M

CassandraSissy · 26-30, TVIP
Oooooh! Controversial, sweetie!

They both have a great sense of humour, in different ways, but my dad is a little more sarcastic and I'm more attuned to that way...

😘
