@SW-User My mom passed about 5 years before my dad. His neighbor lost her husband so they started dating for the company. One time I had come down to visit. As I was getting set to leave my dad went to shake my hand. She said that's your only son. Give him a hug. He thought about it, but he just couldn't do it. Not even with her pushing him.

@Musicman In my parents' generation no males hugged or vocalised about love for each other.
