Are your parents proud of you?

sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
They say they are. 🙂
@sarabee1995 I imagine they’re very proud. I think any parent would be. ☺️
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@DarkHeaven @bijouxbroussard Thank you both 🤗
GuiltyBiStander · 31-35, F
I think they're glad I didn't turn out worse - but I tried 😎
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
I wish they could have lived long enough to see me succeed.
Fullmetal · 46-50, M
Momma turns around and spits on the ground every time my name gets mentioned.
revenant · F
My mother is a psychopath.
I am not allowed to talk to my dad
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
They were very proud of all seven of us
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Looking down from heaven.....I hope so.
They’ve said so. My mother told me so last year.
That’s a mixed bag. They’d say yes… but it’s hard for me to believe that. My life’s kind of been a pile of shit for the most part.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I doubt it. They don't care about anything I do unless it's gonna benefit them in some way.

hope so! I try not to disappoint them too much, but since they're dead it's kind of moot
Viper · M
My Mom will always say yes, because that's the right thing to say. But I'm sure she's not proud of some things too.

My Dad... I'll never truly know. Then again, I'm also not sure it's possible with him. Of course, I'm sure he would of loved for me to be normal, but I'm far from it.
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
@Viper There is no such thing as normal
Viper · M
@NewBeginnings7790 more average or standard, or their normal
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
@Viper if we all were anyone’s standard of normal we’d all be like lemmings, there’d be no growth, no compassion, no learning, no passion, no heartache, no love, and no emotion - essentially there’d be no life in anyone. Then what would be the point of living.

Just saying don’t ever feel the need to live up to anyone’s standards.

I’ve always been the black sheep in my family, and I am far from normal so I know the feeling.

We are all different for a reason, we all have different qualities for different purposes in life.

Yes. Mom is gone and dad is proud of another workaholic son

Not sure my Mother ever was until I became her carer and it finally dawned on her none of the 'favoured' were queuing up to take my place.

Not sure my Dad would even know me today.
Haven't been able to get down to see him since pre-covid due to problems either with my health or my mother's.
He has Alzheimer's.
He's being cared for by his wife's family.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I'm sure they aren't. There's nothing to be proud of.
No... I was always supposed to be better.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Maybe on the other side.
No. They're good people, but no. These two wrinkly old folks sat opposite me at a table twenty five years ago and said I should understand they can't see me anymore, because they don't want to be people with a middle aged daughter. They're not ready for that.
Iwillwait · M
Ihh... Probably not really.

For what? It's not that I accomplished much
SW-User
I think they were. Eventually.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
Of course! I am their favorite!
TexChik · F
They said they were back in the day.
TAReturns · M
Yes but I have no idea why
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
Bahaha no. 😐
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Not sure, they have never said it. They javelin never said they loved me either.
empanadas · 31-35, M
Yes, but they were really hateful and envious of me at one point.
@empanadas I’m glad they came around but man… be happy for your kid’s success. I just don’t get that.
empanadas · 31-35, M
@DarkHeaven yeah, it hurt a lot that was one of the reasons I used to be pretty spiteful on here.
