Who ever said, "Grown Men Don't Cry. "
She whispers softly-
It isn't necessary, to hide your tears from me,
I'm drawn to your emotions,
Expressed so free and easily.
You wear your heart on your sleeve,
So the saying goes,
Let me kiss your tears away,
Her lips lightly touch my face,
Butterfly kisses, don't you know.
Her breath deep and sweet,
Mine held, as our lips finally meet.
Passion soon replaces sorrow,
And we make sweet love,
Through tomorrow.
Ecstasy, our combined reception,
Liquid love, from our conception.
This time, it's Her tears, that I wipe away,
As I hold her tightly,
The dawn burns into day.
Without her love, I'd surely die,
Whoever said,
Grown men don't cry

Crying is like riding a rocking horse..
It’ll give you something to do, but get you nowhere!

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout It's a human form of release of emotions, which we all need on occasion.

One of my foster fathers taught me to never cry,if i did he would say ok I'll give you something to cry about and then he would. If i cried when he hit me ,he'd hit me again . When i was able to take it and not cry he got even madder.

Because no one respects a crying man. Not men and especially not women.

Nothing is real in this world, and I am proud of the fact I have so many tears to cry.Once they dry up,I am finished.

It takes strength to be vulnerable and not everyone has the strength to sit with what can feel overwhelmingly painful. The funny things is that if you do sit with it it goes away quickly, if you avoid it it just stays with you until you deal with it, showing up as random outbursts or as an over reaction to something that doesn’t warrant such a big reaction.
I’m not sure when I stopped myself from crying as a kid, I learned it somewhere, probably from the other kids because my parents weren’t anti crying. But I did know not to cry. Until I was probably 25 or 26 and had started dealing with my shit. I cried a lot that year and am so grateful for it. Now I cry often and have no aversion to it. It’s such a beautiful thing, a good cry heals so much.

That’s such a toxic thing to say to a young boy . “Be a man” , or “man up” are also toxic phrases said to boys.
@AthrillatheHunt I wanted to say something, but it was a coach at a football game saying it to a young player. 😕

@AthrillatheHunt I wonder if these are prized phrases in the military as well for drill sergeants

In ancient times, crying was seen as a masculine trait. Just shows how arbitrary gender norms are.

I always say "real men don't care about other men's definition of manhood". Cause idgaf

It takes a big man to cry but it takes an even bigger man to laugh at him for crying.
Definitely.
bijouxbroussard · F
Luckily, that’s not everywhere.

Because some men feel feminine if they cry. Probably because someone tools them they were a baby or a little girl if they cried or because they aren't secure in their own sexual. Answering for a local licensed mental health care worker

It depends on why you're crying. If you're crying tears of joy or because something tragic has happened, like a death in family, that's expected. If you're crying because you lost a basketball game, you should be ashamed of yourself.
