I love beets. When I lived in a small village in the 1970’s I had a neighbor who had leased a truck garden. I asked them if they had any beets for sale and they did. Sold me enough to make 24 pints of pickled beets.

{@sunnykel76] 😲what you have never had lancashire hotpot it neck of lamb on the base onions carrot with potatoes and potatoes on top 😋 it is more a winter meal here in the the united kingdom but of course can be eaten all year around

@Sunnykel76 It really does. Beets contain a high level of oxylate, which contribute to the formation of kidney stones, which I'm prone to develop. But the worst thing for me to eat, for the same reason, is spinach, which I also love.

I haven't had beets or spinach (and many other kidney-stone-forming foods, in years.

But I would rather do without the foods I love than continue having kidney stones. Those are the worst. 😖
