The fact that somebody looked straight at a purple onion and named it a red onion really bothers me.

I came across the why of that at some point… Apparently way back in the day both pink and purple were routinely called red.

I know of a restaurant called The Purple Onion and I always think of this when I see it

It was the same guy who looked at purple cabbage & names it red cabbage.

Poor farmer didn't go to school.
