If it’s meant to be, it will be. Do you agree??

Top | New | Old
I don't necessarily agree. The phrase "if it's meant to be, it will be" implies a sense of destiny or fate that is outside of our control. While it's possible that some things may happen regardless of our actions, I believe that our choices and decisions play a significant role in shaping our lives and determining outcomes. Simply waiting for things to happen or assuming that they will work out on their own can lead to missed opportunities and a lack of personal growth. Instead, I think it's more productive to take an active role in pursuing our goals and making deliberate decisions to achieve what we want.😊

I think it depends on what "it" is.

Sometimes such saws are used as a rather bleak comforter for something that really is inevitable.

There are things in life we cannot avoid but we might be able to ameliorate the effects.

We are though, responsible for our actions. If we decide on an action we can see likely to fail if we only think about it, we cannot blame anyone or anything else when it fails.

Depends on who/what is giving the 'meaning' in the term 'meant'. If we are simply cogs in a predetermined machine world, it's depressing and I'm not in agreement. However, I'm happy with the idea that a relationship with a living God where we work together in achieving a purpose which is unstoppable is possible.
Absolutely. Too many waste time by focusing on lost love, people, friends, things. Work on your dreams. Know when to move on. Love yourself first.

Thats what my mother always used to say and I found that she was right.
Some things you just can't force.

I believe you ought to do all you can to influence an outcome the way you desire. I don’t think there’s some cosmic arbiter that will rule in your favour.

@Riemelt Ok, and then after you did all you could and things still didn’t go how you wanted; was it just “not meant to be” ??
Riemelt · 22-25, M
@MissNoahLenFoxx I think “meant to be” frames it as though there’s some prophetic script from which we can’t deviate.

Instead, I think you should frame like this: if you end up with an outcome you didn’t desire, you can at least be assured you did everything within your power, and maybe learn a lesson for next time.

I do. The worst life you’ll ever live is the one where you try to change it. Life doesn’t need our intervention, it only creates more problems.

Yes, I do. It's best not to force it.

More than you will ever know 🙂
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
No. If you believe its meant to be, work for it like its your already.

Then you have to protect that idea from other people if you want to keep it that way.
Elisbch · M
Maybe... there's some work and understanding that has to most likely be included.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Yes, but too often only after many attempts that were not meant to be :)
IamBack · 31-35, M
Yes but the effort has to be made nonetheless

You can influence the outcome

Nothing is meant to be. It becomes what you make it or allow it to become.
