Is being deaf as a young lady a crime?

I'm proudly deaf and have been deaf all my life, and one thing that amazes me till date is that most men thinks simply because I'm deaf then I would be so cheap enough to be taken advantage of. I had come across men whom are so shy to associate theirselves with me in public due to my deafness, it's all lust and not love. Would I ever find someone whom would accept and love me for who I'm and not because of their selfish interest

they are not men they are a$$ wholes.the right person will find you sooner or later.dont ever lower your self because of any handycap you do not want a person like that.be who you are and when the right person comes along things will work out

@beaglehunter A Deaf person doesn't consider deafness to be a handicap.

I can't speak about the deaf person's viewpoint/perception, because it was not in our curriculum.
I had a deaf girlfriend in high school. Thinking I could take advantage of her because she couldnt hear didn't exist
If it’s any consolation, that’s how they treat all women.

I'm sorry you have a problem with some people. One of my son's best friends in college was a wonderful young lady who was deaf. They had a lot of fun together, but she had a boyfriend so there was no romance. They still keep in touch 20+ years after graduation.

Just a question: you said "proudly deaf". Did you mean "profoundly deaf"? Either way, no it is no way a "crime" and if anyone says it is, it is they who are messed up.

Well, I have had crushes on women on here, who I never heard, and never saw (so less lust, although they can have a sexy personality).

Once, a lady and I exchanged numbers and I called, yet we were so anxious and both not good on the phone, so we did not know what to say! We agreed to hang up and just stick to online chat, LOL!

I prefer writing. It allows me time to think, and edit. And attach photos! But no sounds. And no videos (with or without audio) since take up too much disk space.

I think deaf people are amazing and great company
@Jake966 That's been my experience also.

Are you deaf, Deaf, HH or hearing?

When I was a young man, I was coming home on the Greyhound bus. I happened to sit across from these 2 deaf guys, I communicated with them via written notes. We had a absolute blast! I had a 40 oz of Jack Daniels, they had a ounce of weed!! I never wrote so much in my life!

@Fullmetal 40 oz among 3 deaf guys is a lot of booze.
Hello there.

My Deaf professors were immensely proud of the/ir Deaf identity-culture, etc.
And it was a complete privilege and joy to be immersed in the Deaf culture, even for a little bit.

I am curious, why are you using the lower case d in deaf vs Deaf?

Wishing you all the best.

That's really shocking to hear in a world where we read through eyes. It's a world of Vanity, where most guys only want a trophy gal to go along with in Public. But love is always true when its written and read.

I know that u can and will. I was close friends with a few hearing impaired ppl. Its about getting acquainted with that type of limitation. An employer will work with you to be able to do the assigned tasks.
I think most women might be experiencing that and not have to do with the deafness. At least if I'm understanding correctly

If two people are interested in each other, you never sweat the tiny things.

What is it like to be deaf? Do you live in a soundless world? What kind of job do you have?
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
I’ve never heard of that behavior toward deafness. But if you say so …

I have a hearing disability too
