Have you ever experienced being forgotten by other people?

Top | New | Old
Do you mean being forgotten by other people? If so then yes.
Frequently as a child. I got used to it eventually and stopped counting on people.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@DancingStarGoddess yes. And thank you for your correction lol. Do you have any idea why people forgot about you?
@Khaira you're very welcome, and yes they always told me that it was because I was so quiet and shy. It's always the reason they gave. "You're just so quiet we forgot all about you." It used to hurt my feelings a lot back then.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@DancingStarGoddess i see.. i understand that, sometimes i was left behind too when i was a kid because i was quiet and not stand out. They all want to play with the cool ones
Adstar · 56-60, M
Yeah.. But that's only natural.. People are just human beings, they forget.. I reminded the person of how we where connected ( an old school class mate ) their face brightened once they remembered me.. So in the end it was a good experience, 👍
Piper · 61-69, F
I'll just say that it has felt that way at times in my life, and no more so than in the last 6 years. Not by everyone, but by people I thought I mattered to.
fun4us2b · M
Yes. In business, there was this one guy that I worked with about 20 years ago, and he totally forgot everything about me and the project. I didn't take it too personally, because he didn't even remember the building or anything...🤷‍♂
BluntSm0ker · 100+, M
Yes, I moved to a new country at age of 11,

I lost contact with everyone I knew up to that point in a single day , this was before of social media.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@BluntSm0ker would you trace them back now?
BluntSm0ker · 100+, M
@Khaira
Yeah but it's just kinda not the same,

"Hey, remember me?, we were buddies in elementary 20 years ago" lol
Khaira · 36-40, F
@BluntSm0ker um.. yes that would be awkward 😅😅
Rambler · 61-69, M
I'm sure I have but I've forgotten a lot of people too. Life is long, you keep some with you but with time a lot just fall away.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Rambler those who are called friends or lovers.. someday will gone
Horok · 31-35, M
Yeah.

It happens often, it does hurt a bit but I can't change who I am because of a few who couldn't care less.
HoeBag · 51-55, F
Just the ones who have Alzheimer's. I do not mind because it is like making a new friend every time I see them. :D
Bowenw · 61-69, M
Yes people I thought were my friends stopped communicating.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Bowenw and why is that? Any idea?
Bowenw · 61-69, M
@Khaira It is often that as we grow older we have new interests, new responsibilities, make new friends, or move away.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Bowenw that's true, only few things still kept as life goes on
Kiesel · 56-60, M

LadyBronte · 61-69, F
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
I'm usually the one that forgets them.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Thevy29 they are not important lol
Rokan · 36-40, M
That how military life is
Rokan · 36-40, M
@Khaira no not really that but it takes you far away for long periods of time and life still goes on without you for everyone you know and when you come back it is like you are a stranger.
Khaira · 36-40, F
@Rokan is that personal experience of you?
Rokan · 36-40, M
@Khaira it is and its like that for many of my military friends and vets I've talk to, but that was the past. Most my family have passed away now from old age. I have a few siblings and cousins left
