Countless...otherwise known as the homeless. Urinating in a trash can. Insane ravings. Just on-going non-sensical ramblings. There was the “crazy spitting lady”annoying UES. Sad as these poor folks need help and no one can.
@Sunujing Many "one" can

Its called humane housing policies..housing could be construed as a right and actually is in some places.

If you are interested look up the articles on the web. I don't spoon feed, back to Guys and Dolls now.

I live in NYC. There have been countless ones.

The most uncomfortable was when a man on the subway started yelling at me that if he was an NFL player I would be begging to sleep with him. The train was too packed for me to move and everyone around us was just giving me weird irritated sideways glances but I couldn’t do anything about it but pretend I couldn’t hear him. I had to get off at the next stop, leave the platform to make sure he didn’t follow me, and then get another train home.

@summersong It's good that you got away from that guy...good grief.

Pathological lying.
Love you one day the next cut you like you don't exist.
Lack of empathy.

She was my neighbour across the hall. she would stalk me in public at night. She insulted people and anyone she didn’t like . She even called me the c word for no reason - just to get a reaction. I called the police many times - nothing they could do. It wasn’t against the law. I had to move

😜 stranger woman came out of her house when I was walking by screaming hey where’s my present? What did you bring me? She ran screaming at me all jiberish. I got away in the woods, found out about a year later she suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s disease.

Craziest person I ever met was my older step brother. Hes cruel, vindictive, and nuts. Haven't seen him in years and glad he lives in another state.

I've never had an encounter myself, but over 7 years ago I saw some crazy lady cursing out this homeless man in front of a McDonald's in downtown Chicago. After she was done she went inside the restaurant, and I was like "Uh-oh". When the group that I was with got back to the intersection a bit later, the police and an ambulance were at the McDonald's, and this same lady was being brought out in handcuffs just completely hysterical and placed into the ambulance.
If this site were really annonymous I would tell I story I can't tell here.

"Crazy" is mostly about emptiness.

You see a lot of mental-illness in the bigger cities.

It doesn't take much to realize when a person is not on the same plane of existance as you.

@SW-User I could probably imagine...

I lived in Oakland for over 20 years and walked everywhere. I encountered many "crazy" people in my travels. I learned to not make eye contact, mind my own business and get out of the way.

A catatonic relative. I was a child and I don't know the diagnosis to this day but she didn't talk and did everything very slowly. From what I heard, she's okay now.

Last time was when my friends told me. I'm a bit 2 trusting sometimes.

They committed a murder (probably more)
I worked in Berkeley for a few years. Great city, but folks are all kinds of “different” there.
A friend and I were walking back to our office on Shattuck after lunch when we passed by a man in a pink ballgown, blond wig (he was black) Converse high tops and Mickey Mouse ears. We kept our faces as straight as we could manage.
When we were well out of earshot, my friend commented, “well, now, that just looks like a trip to Disneyland gone horribly wrong...” 🤪
