It could never happen today, but we had fun as kids with the firecrackers we got for Christmas. We would build forts and blow them up or blow up broken toys. We didn't have fancy fireworks. I agree with you. Fireworks displays are a waste of money.

Fireworks used to be much more than just a loud bang, they were amazing to look at. We always had a bonfire party on Guy Fawkes Night and the fireworks were the highlight, now they're just a huge bang and that's it so yeah, a boring waste of a lot of money.

I like the quiet ones, fountains mainly. They are just beautiful to look at.
The ones that bang scare dogs, so they should only be used at an isolated event.

I've never understood that either. It's so expensive to purchase them and it just blows up. Absolutely nothing to show for it. A waste of money in my opinion.
