Sure. Quite a few times, but that did not keep it from being great for me. People cannot always be available. That does not necessarily mean they don't love us nor care. Things come up. We never know what others are going through. It's okay to celebrate by ourselves and enjoy every minute of this gift called life. Jesus celebrates us every day because we are so special to him and no one could love us more. What more could we want?

Yes just last Friday on December 23rd it was brutally cold 🥶 and snowy out didn’t feel like dealing with that but I was on Christmas break from work so it was okay.
I did today. Took myself out for breakfast, then came home and popped a bottle of Prosecco, shampooed my hair, and relaxed for the remainder of the day.

However, later, I invited my friend Mary over, who lives in the same building and we really had a great time, laughing and watching movies and stuff. Bought myself one of those hugely delicious red velvet cakes!! Haha Man, did we enjoy that! 🤣😂

I usually celebrate my birthday alone. The people I live with get me cards sometimes, but I pick something to do that makes me happy, take the day off, and enjoy myself. It isn’t weird, to my thinking. It’s highly customizable. 😄👍👍
Yes one time I wanted to take a day off for my birthday but the supervisor was being stingy with our accrued time because he didn’t want to fill in for us on any days off. The day before my birthday it came a snowstorm, dumped 18 inches starting mid-afternoon. They let us go home 2 hours early (with snow pay) and we were off the next two days (Thursday and Friday). Thursday was my birthday and I got a lot of rest, played on my WebTV for an entire day, cleaned, cooked and etc. I couldn’t get my car out to go anywhere and bundled up and walked a mile to go to a 7-11 to get a Sunday paper and snacks and drinks. This was in 2020 and it was a birthday to remember.
yep the very last month I was with my fiancé I knew our relationship was over from that point forward. If your partner puts no effort into your birthday, you may as well call it quits from there
I kind of feel that with social media, one can't be truly alone anymore unless they decide to be. There's always someone somewhere available for a talk.

@SooperSarah Absolutely! Sometimes I love celebrating my birthday alone. I can do anything I want, in the peace and quiet of my own home and just enjoy myself by watching a movie or whatever. It's lovely!
No when I celebrate my birthday I have millions of people celebrating around me plus I get a firework display and a parade. My birthday is July 1st which is also Canada's birthday. Anyway if you have to celebrate your birthday alone it is still a special day so you could do special things. Like you could put one of those tiny paper umbrellas in your cocktail and fancy up your meal. Hope you have/had a happy birthday. Cheers and Happy New Year!
I think treating yourself to a good meal and getting a bit tipsy is perfectly okay... even advisable. Just remember you won't have a designated driver 😉.
