Is Denmark the new USA?

I thought we were past this sort of prude/puritan BS for a good 500+ years now

Personally .

I thought they could be bigger myself.

What's a statue breast reduction cost these days?
Elessar · 31-35, M
@BobbyMoeven If they opt to reduce them I'm buying the cheapest Ryanair flight to Copenhagen and chain myself to the statue's boobs in protest
BobbyMoeven · 100+, M
@Elessar

You go boy.

You need to dress up like the prince from the little mermaid first.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@BobbyMoeven or Ursula (not the president of the European Commission, mind you)
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Denmark is the cultural guardian of the Little Mermaid, so they are probably obliged by Disney to regulate the size of her breasts.

I've always felt a bit odd about mermaids. They are essentially a sailor's "hot dream of what a woman should look like" and not the most obvious material for a childrens story.

@Khenpal1 Let's see if it stays or gets removed then.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Khenpal1 Could be a danger to shipping? 🚢
Ferric67 · M
Personally, I love visiting Copenhagen
Bumbles · 56-60, M
I thought Denmark’s puritans all moved to Plymouth.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Bumbles I found this hard to masturbate to. Not impossible, mind you. But I took one for the team.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 This is nothing; remember when Frodo took one for the team and did it with Ben Shapiro? And got addicted to it too
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Elessar nevertheless, both of us persisted. It's a heartwarming story of overcoming challenges. 🫡
Convivial · 26-30, F
Apparently not...🙄

@Elessar Oh my, I only have internet on my phone right now, so I have to return to this when I can use my PC again. Like honestly it must be some joke or misunderstanding, but I can ask my family if anything weird is going on at home. Usually we just get in trouble for making fun of other countries lol.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@Nightwings It's not just yours, I mean, the UK recently introduced a weird, absolutely overkill "age verification" thing where they need to scan their ID in order to access "adult websites"; the EU is expected to implement something similar by next year, it's a lot of countries getting onboard with weird sh*t all of a sudden.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
What!?!?! Is this the statue by Copenhagen harbor??? They can't take it down!!!
Elessar · 31-35, M
@sarabee1995 This is a new one (not yet installed?)

(@Khenpal1 correct me if I'm wrong)

@Elessar Danish agency for palaces and culture requests removal of 14-tonne sculpture from Dragør Fort in Copenhagen. The Danish agency for palaces and culture is reportedly removing the 4x6 metre Den Store Havfrue (the Big Mermaid) from Dragør Fort, part of Copenhagen’s former sea fortifications, because it does not align with the cultural heritage of the 1910 landmark. In 2006 the Big Mermaid was erected at Langelinie Pier in Copenhagen, near the Little Mermaid. But it was removed in 2018 after locals denounced it as “the fake and vulgar mermaid”.It was subsequently moved to Dragør Fort, until the Danish agency for palaces and culture intervened in March, requesting its removal. Dragør municipality has since reportedly declined Bech’s offer of donating it as a gift.

Helle Barth, chair of Dragør muncipality’s climate, urban and business committee, told Berlingske that although it was a nice offer, “it’s just hard to fit in. It takes up a lot of space.”

Bech, who has said he made the statue in response to tourists’ comments that the Little Mermaid – inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale – was too small, has said he is often told by people in Dragør that they love his sculpture. He is hoping to find a way to keep it in the town.

The Danish agency for palaces and culture declined to comment. they just move her around

basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Elessar fcking Smørrebrød eating motherfckers.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Sounds like puritanism disguised as feminism in order to give it a liberal slant, but it's still the same old censorship.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@LordShadowfire Yeah. Add to this also that "but think of the children" nonsense going on in the UK
