Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
In order of importance:
1) stay safe!
2) please keep the fires on your side of the county line…OC is fine for now and I’d rather not have to evacuate too 🥺

@TryingtoLava Please look at an accurate map. That one isn't. The Watch Duty app, if you don't have it, is crucial if you're around wildfires. You'll get evac notifications and updates in real time.

@Zaphod42 We have a friend in Orange County too

Winds dying down tonight. I'm about 3 miles from the Palisades fire. I think will be okay beginning tomorrow.

@jackrabbit10 Your source is you back in 1983? I asked for a source. Personal experience is not causation; simple logical fallacy. Again, please provide a credible source.
jackrabbit10 · M
@RageAgainstTheMachine live in Tennessee now, very seldom get fires,

That's not the evac order map though. Not even close. But large areas are definitely under orders. And it's happening to those who aren't experienced with the process.
CalFire took it over earlier today but the issue is they can't get in front of it like most all wildland fires. Also couldn't fly last night and that's when progress is usually made.
This is all about the wind throwing embers for miles in to neighborhoods. They're just chasing fire.
I've been around my share of wildfires and this one is different. Low humidity, bone dry, higher temps and crazy winds blowing to the west/southwest. Literally a "perfect storm."
Freaking tragic. These are bad, bad fires. Hope you're someplace safe. If you are seeing a lot of ash, and the winds are up, please take that seriously. Those embers are flying. Good luck.

Time to grab the canoe and head for the sea... God knows why they didn't try to funnel you through some safe routes if you wanted to evacuate - because that's as useful as a chocolate fireguard right now...
@HootyTheNightOwl that wont work silly the wind is making 13-15 ft waves! I think im better off at home
@TryingtoLava I was being sarcastic after seeing those maps... the sea is just about the only thing that isn't pink - and I know the pink stuff is the stuff you want to get out of and avoid.
You'll just have to stay home and keep your eyes and ears open for any fires getting too close to home.

Be safe, this is legit scary with the winds reaching 100 miles per hour.
@Northwest the homeless shelters are i guaranteed all filled cuz all our evac shelters are filled
RageAgainstTheMachine · 41-45, M
The wind gusts should sustain by sundown; if this was July I would be more inclined to tell you to leave.
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
Wind is blowing as hard as I can remember not gonna make much progress slowing the fire until it dies down
Please be careful and stay safe out there ☹
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
It is tragic and it seems to never stop for long.

@Musicman they are far far from saying anything is the cause of this fire. It's 0% contained.
Yet they still have no idea what caused the last massive fire near the same place.
This is her second fire.

@swirlie Though, I do agree the majority of posts of this nature are concocted for attention, I can not find an example in such context; thus I must personally coincide with the Original Poster. In nature to the original comment, there are fires in California every years; many times bigger ironically based upon your dooming closing argument.
