That's not the evac order map though. Not even close. But large areas are definitely under orders. And it's happening to those who aren't experienced with the process.
CalFire took it over earlier today but the issue is they can't get in front of it like most all wildland fires. Also couldn't fly last night and that's when progress is usually made.
This is all about the wind throwing embers for miles in to neighborhoods. They're just chasing fire.
I've been around my share of wildfires and this one is different. Low humidity, bone dry, higher temps and crazy winds blowing to the west/southwest. Literally a "perfect storm."
Freaking tragic. These are bad, bad fires. Hope you're someplace safe. If you are seeing a lot of ash, and the winds are up, please take that seriously. Those embers are flying. Good luck.
