So this horrible secondary school teacher here refused to call a student by their chosen name

And insisted on referring to the student by their dead name and also refused to use their chosen they/them, he was suspended from his job and also refused to accept the suspension and turned up at school last week and continued with the abuse, he's now gone to prison.. Story attached, kind of shocking tbh..

Something tells me he wouldn't be too happy if someone started referring to him as "she" and "her". Somehow then, pronouns would be more of an issue than he thought.

Using someone's preferred pronouns doesn't cost you anything. There is no reason to create a hostile environment. I've had no problem referring to a non-binary friend of mine as "they". This is something that many younger people don't take issue with and I wonder why it needs to be blown so out of proportion. 🤔

The fact is, this isn't really about pronouns and language. It's about having a problem with trans and non-binary people.
SW-User
@SW-User of course it is, and well stated by the way,

he's purposefully showing up at the school despite being suspended with full pay, he really just wants to bully that teenager
@SW-User A great conclusion and even better example to make it easy to understand. Well done!

@SW-User whenever someone thinks proper pronoun usage isn't a big deal, start casually referring to God as 'she' and watch how quickly it becomes a big deal
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Let him stay there. Compassion and acceptance are supposed to be core tenants of his faith and he cant even see it.
@Starcrossed The person who downvoted you couldn’t have been a Christian; you were speaking the truth.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard lol I didnt even notice. Its someone who very much preaches and passes judgement but never engages in debate. I'm kind of surprised they haven't blocked me long ago. Not gonna lie I don't hate rialing up that type.
FatEight · M
Good for him!!! The sane world needs heros that stand up to the entire WOKE bullshit. Especially the teachers that are promoting this ignorance to children. Any teachers not doing what he was are the real criminals.
SW-User
@chrisCA oh totally and look at his profile
chrisCA · M
@SW-User Yes. I have seen. The sad thing is, there are many who think like him.
SW-User
@chrisCA yes, I blocked 5 people on this post. I know that won't stop them from thinking how they do, but it will stop them spewing their kind of hate speech on my posts
summersong · F
What a self-important ass. It’s not his place to decide what someone else’s child should be called. Full stop. Just like it’s not his place to decide that he shouldn’t be suspended from his job.

Teachers who make kids feel unsafe at school, for whatever reason but especially because of their identity, have no place teaching.
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
I am sorry I agree with him . What happened to the freedom of choice or freedom of speech etc that everyone goes on about . People may disagree with him but jailing him is an invasion of his rights and wrong . That is telling him he has no right to his beliefs and no right to voice them wrong wrong wrong . I hope he sues the police and the school . What is it coming to when the state becomes big brother and our freedoms stopped what next . Sorry but this is totally wrong and once again our government are hippacrittes .
SW-User
@Rhode57 it's not your government, I live in the Irish state, The Republic of Ireland
Lucyy · 22-25, F
@Rhode57 I disagree tbh when it comes to the safety of children. Whether you are guilty or not is irrelevant. If an investigation of a childs safety is taking place, and the adult being investigated for abuse towards a child breaks a court order to stay away from the place that that child is required to be during the day, it should absolutely be brought down hard if you are coming near that child before it is determined that you are not a threat to them.

@Lucyy I'm fascinated as to how this post became open, as I'm sure I closed it🤔😕

It is part of Christianity to 'turn the other cheek'. But that takes on a whole new meaning in prison.
MrsRachelEvans · 31-35, F
I think what we are doing to children in the name of trans is cruel but he got jailed for turning up to the school.all the time, not that. So he was pretty arrogant.
@MrsRachelEvans what are people doing to children in the name of trans?
Carissimi · F
He was making a stand for common sense and decency. This evil that has befallen our children needs to be stood up to. That child can’t buy beer, cigarettes, or have sex, but are deemed mature enough to cut off body parts that forever alters them. @MrsRachelEvans
Lucyy · 22-25, F
@Carissimi Sex change surgery isn't permitted until 18 in most places. Preferred pronouns don't inherently include a sex change. So its widely viewed as something similar to painting nails or dyeing hair- your nails and hair are something that you can change back at any time, but while it makes you feel better or more like yourself, they appear as however you present them.
Its generally seen as the same when it comes to using different pronouns. So the view at that age tends to be that even if it does end up being just a phase, you can switch back anytime you want, with no true harm or change.
SammyJo · 51-55, F
That is very sad and, to be honest, morally wrong.

It's kinda like (but not quite, as you shall see..) and the young child that is playing and exclaims to their friends/family 'I'm a Spaceman!' ; you go 'Oh, ok...that's cool. You're a Spaceman..' - go along with the flow, being respectful.

Would this guy go 'No, you're just a child playing in a cardboard box. Stop being stupid' ? I'd hope not.

Identity, sexual or not, is a huge thing for everyone living and breathing. It defines who they identify with, their confidence and acceptance into this big wide world for the rest of their lives.

For someone to be so disrespectful, why it just makes my blood boil....

SJD xx
I wonder what his god thinks of people blatantly disrespecting their fellow humans. 🤔
Aww, we have a downvote. Did it hurt to realize what a hypocrite the guy is?
SW-User
@NerdyPotato who did that?
@SW-User 🤐

My brother sent me this just a few days ago. Idk much of the context, but it seems to be acting on a wide scale. Which I guess it's to be expected, since pronouns are such a controversial thing. No no matter what his beliefs are though, I have no idea why this man would trespass and go back onto the property after being ordered to stay away.
AlicjaMagic · 22-25, F
If he WERE just "following his conscience" and religion, then whether or not I agreed with him I'd last respect that.

But he's just determined to be a bullying dickhead, so one does wonder what sort of teacher he was before this incident
It will just feed into his religious persuction complex via Matthew 10:22. Which is just a self fulfilling prophecy. Jesus said you will be persecuted so you make such a menace of yourself that people persecute you. It doesnt take much to see that pattern.
Was he teaching in a parochial school or a public one ?
If he has no regrets, he’s where he belongs.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard it's a state school
@SW-User Okay. Then he’s not being paid to impose his religious beliefs on anyone.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard no, our state is actually closing down religious based schools, they're all changing over the next decade to community national schools, non demonination, where religion is taught, but the children learn about all religions of the world and atheism too. They can no longer refuse to accept students based on them not being Catholic which was happening a lot.

I was always taught that it was rude to refer to someone as he or she in their presence...
SW-User
One person is not a they or them. Basic English fact.
Dead name.... is that like... BIRTH name/LEGAL name?

When someone chooses to become something they really weren't or aren't, it doesn't become society's job or place to have to follow and make it all nicey nice.
Transgender is not a reason people have to play pretend and give a new name. They and them are more than one. Is the "child" having identity issues?

The teacher is well within his rights and people need to stop letting anything and everything be allowed and accepted.
@SW-User I knew you could no longer defend calling that child anything other than "they" after that. I find it a bit weak not to just admit that and a bit strange to call an argument you brought to the table yourself ridiculous, but I'll take it. Have a great day!
Lucyy · 22-25, F
@SW-User "Hey, someone left their jacket!"
-An example of they being used as a singular pronoun in definitely not new context.
SW-User
@Lucyy OMG!!! Give it a rest! It's not the same at all and trying to make it so doesn't make it so. You want to be called "they" and "them"? Do it on your own time and don't waste mine!
@NerdyPotato of course you'll take it.... best time to call a win is when nobody is home!
I am telling you both in this comment to let it go and not bother me anymore.

@Stereoguy yet you want them to conform to what their parents planted into their head and not learn about anything beyond being born male and female.

Nobody is planting the idea that boys need to feel more feminine or girls need to feel more masculine. The only thing that's taught is that if they do feel more like the opposite gender, or both, neither or anything in between, that's perfectly fine and that they shouldn't think there is anything wrong with them.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Stereoguy Nobody's forcing him to teach or not teach something against his will, the article is about him violating a court order issued after he insisted on violating a student's personal right.

@Stereoguy At least I'm not the one here encouraging disobedience to a court, trespassing and child abuse.
