What are that top three things that you haven't touched or used for years but you still keep at home because they hold significant memories?

Old letters, gifts and cards

My teddies! They are from childhood. I have a box full and take them out from time to time. Growing up I didn't like dolls. Nope give me a teddy bear 🐻 🐻 🐻 or a action figure. 😤😤😤

My guitar and amp. 😔😔😔😔 I loved my grandaddy and would sit a listen to him sing and play his guitar. I wanted to learn so he'd let me play on it from time to time. When he passed away he left it for me but my fingers cramp so bad I can’t play with it long. It sits in the corner of my room for anyone to see though.

Lastly I'll say old computer hard drives and an old projection TV. The tv...😔😔😔😔. I had a teacher back in middle school who took a liking to me. She gave me a lot of things I never asked for and years went by it was like she was my godmotheror mentor...until she wasn’t. I tend to somehow make people feel like I don’t care about them when I actually do. I don’t understand it but it hurts when they leave. She left me this long message and varnished. The TV has great speakers but since I'm now more conscious that I have neighbors...and I basically don’t watch tv, it just sits there.

The old hard drives I keep in hopes to uncover my lost creations. Music, animation videos, and some things I wrote.

@SW-User Yes it has.

@Musicman Does it have a story included?
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@SW-User That I am not sure. I have been assured there is not, but it has all the proper markings. 🙂

A white King piece from Grandpa's chessboard.

My grandfather was the one who taught me chess. When I visit him on vacation, we play for hours, game after game, much to my grandmother's annoyance.

He's so good that even though my game had significantly improved over the years, I was never be able to beat him. Then one day, I check mated him, and thrilled by having done the impossible, I snatched his check mated King and ran around in jubilation. My grandfather was smiling all along.

But, in the midst of all the celebrations, I forgot to return the piece to the chess board box. It was still in my pocket.

I didn't find the piece until the next day, when I got home. It sat on my desk for several years. I kept it because it reminded me of my time with my grandfather, the thrill of playing chess with him, and most importantly, it showed me that if you are persistent and dedicated, you can win in life.

I keep a small ceramic bell, (not my taste), because it belonged to my favorite Aunt, and my cousins gave it to me after she died.

I also keep a pin that belonged to her, which was given to me after her death.

AND I keep a small Civil War era photograph, inside a tiny case, that she gave me when she was still alive.

@4meAndyou Very nice 🙂 Who or what is the picture of?
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman My Aunt found it when she was exploring a small crawl space in my Grandfather's house, (2nd floor), under the eaves. We didn't know who the woman was. My mother used to say that it might have been her Great Aunt Daisy, but I think it is far more likely to have been a relative of the people who owned the farm and the house before my Grandfather bought it. She is a mystery.

@4meAndyou It is still nice though. 🤗

I have the lego Goat man from when my little brother was born. Dad gave us a lego set each to keep us quiet.

And my Teddies of course.

None. My boyfriend is the sentimental one who keeps things dusting because x person gave it to him.

Gunny Bear ( my first gift and teddy bear my adoptive parents gave/made for me to help cope with my PTSD), Daddy's guns and pocket knife, photos.

My dad was in the Lion's Club. I still have his Lion's Club vest.

A couple of my mom's towels.

My dad gave me his very first socket set he ever owned. It is a Craftsman quarter inch set from the early 1950's.
