Almost 4am and cant sleep

Do traumatic events from your past still keep you up at night? I wish my husband would hold me and rub my back until i go back to sleep but hes sleeping peacefully and i have to get ready for work in an hour anyways so might as well kill time until then

When I was 13 a much, much older kid hit me in the face from the side. Had a ring on his finger and it cut my cheek open and I went crashing down to the ground and got knocked out. So I stood up with blood pouring out of my nose, mouth, cheek and nobody did anything. Everybody just stood around, even teachers. I remember my jumper, my green jumper just covered in blood and having to walk to the office all on my own. I dream and wake up to that one a lot.

@DarkSideoftheMoon Teachers never gave a shit, oh sure they had their 0 policy on bullying and violence!!! But it was rubbish, blood and snot all over the place. There was always some poor sod going off to the sick bay bleeding out of his face. Worst I saw was a guy who was headbutted and down he went. CRACK!!! Goes his skull on the concrete and while blood pour out of his head he started having a seizure. The ambulance came for him.

@DarkSideoftheMoon Oh yeah!!! I once saw a teacher slam one of the students against a bunch of lockers. And we had this one kid who would just go off!!! And they'd just tease and torment the shit out of him!!! And nothing was ever done about it!!!

I'm sorry honey :( Yeah it happens sometimes but usually i'm ok. If it makes you feel any less anxious, you're probably a lot better off for having laid there for 7 hours or so than if you'd just kept doing stuff throughout the night. You're at least resting your body.

@BlueVeins thanks. Yeah i laid here from 3 to 4 just trying to fall back asleep but then i realised that isnt happening so i grabbed my phone. Love SW on nights like this
Not so much trauma from the past as Ive gotten over most of it. Its current issues that keep me awake. Hopefully I will deal with those to and keep going. 🙏

@Cutiepi23 try to be positive and practice meditation 🧘‍♀️
@DarkSideoftheMoon I do meditation weekly. I aim to do it more often. Thank you 😊

Yep they certainly do, sometimes they wake me up and I can't even remember entirely what it is I'm remembering but part of me does, part of me knows.

DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
There are some places, unfortunately, you must alone. But there is a way thru.

@DownTheStreet guide me, wise prehistoric lizard thing. 🦎

@DarkSideoftheMoon memories are places. When feeling most affected by traumatic ones, a wise man asked me “why do you live there?” It was then that began to envision walking away from them.
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@DownTheStreet i guess i get nightmares of it or nightmares in relation to the events. Ive tried mindful thinking and i guess its the best option to deal with it
