Has Covid gotten better where you are?

I mean its good that we're don't have to isolate like we did back in 2020. A lot of people didn't do good in isolation. Cause we still have cave man brains and when were isolated we think the rest of the tribe has rejected us. And we start picking away at ourselves and finding faults that aren't there, and our mental health declines...
I guess the only people who got through Covid Restrictions with their mental health intact were the people who were the loners in school. Just something weird to think about really.

It’s just flu. 🤧
Turn the tv off lol
Fairydust · F
@revenant as they do 👺 look down on you. 😞
Wiseacre · F
Ppl dying from flu@Fairydust
Fairydust · F
@Wiseacre they aren’t dying from covid. Massive scam, keep watching the 📺 🗞️
Infections seem to be going down at the moment, but chronic illness is through the roof from earlier waves. Pretty much every sector is struggling to find personnel, leading to empty shelves in shops, long waiting lists for care, etc.

We're doing okay-ish in not worsening the problems, but we should have done way more to slow the spread before.

@NerdyPotato It was so crazy at the beginning wasn't it? The Politicians, who are not medical professionals were calling the shots and it was clear these m#therf#ckers had been drinking since the beginning of the pandemic... Just glad we had gotten through it.
@Thevy29 our handling was more based on what people found uncomfortable than what was needed, and now everyone is inconvenienced for decades to come.
Isolation may kick in around Christmas time... the fact that they found 800 cases on a cruise ship recently - and how they handled that sounded some alarm bells for me.

Why on earth do they think that it's a good idea to round up 800 people who tested positive for Covid19, bus them to the airport - then cut them loose???

Like, sure, we knew that we had 800 cases on board - so we isolated them from the rest of our passengers and delivered the lot of them to the nearest airport so they can go home and spread the virus more widely... oh, yeah... and we're bringing back physical muster stations, too.

@HootyTheNightOwl presumably as a grown adult you were all for choice when it came to the injections etc or were you for the mandates?
@gol979 And that's relevant to the story how??? That's a year and a half ago now - and, regardless of my views, the cruising industry was mandated to take a different route to the rest of the planet back then anyway.

Like I told you before, go back to class and let us adults have a proper conversation.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@HootyTheNightOwl and as an adult i was asking your opinion of the mandates. There are still covid injection mandates. California, go for a mandate to attend school. Nhs student nurses are all to be double injected before they can study. Do you agree with the mandates now? Did you agree with the mandates back when they were first imposed? Did you have a change of mind?

Sh!t I forgot Covid even existed
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
No. People are still passing it from one to another left and right. I've had it twice this year, my bf has had it 3 times. Our coworkers keep giving it back to us. 😑
gol979 · 41-45, M
@DearAmbellina2113 no snarkiness......have you had any injections?
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@gol979 yes we are both vaxxed. The vaccine was never a cure or a way to prevent getting the virus, it is merely an immune system booster so that when you inevitably get it, you are less likely to die.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@DearAmbellina2113 maybe......but it wasnt sold like that. It was mandated (ie if you dont get it you are excluded from society, "consequences" was the word frequently used). Also we are still being told its "safe and effective". Unfortunately its neither. Thank you for a calm response. This subject can get very heated
Now its RSV, from people excessively using anti bacterials and not exposing themselves to anything that challenged or strengthened their immune systems.

Covid has stayed the same. The people here for the most part are just less dramatic over it and basically see it for what it is now and in doing so, things have gone back to normal
@Torsten the regular flu never disrupted medical care as much COVID though. And yes, we're moving thanks to vaccines and measures to reduce spread when they were needed. Maybe this graph will help you understand:

@NerdyPotato the vaccine never stopped the spread or reduce it. thats total BS
@Torsten true, they mostly reduced the severity of infections. Other measures reduced the spread much more.
dakotaviper · 56-60, M
It must have, because people who are getting ill in my area are being told it's the flu and not covid.
revenant · F
It is just the sniffles...

They are thinking of restituting the mask mandates here lol😂
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@revenant Ever since I had Covid I have had trouble breathing. And I was dressed in full PPE when I caught it too..
Everyone is living normally.
Still occasionally see someone in a mask but they are few and far between.
Wiseacre · F
Yes, but now we are seeing an uptick in cases, so mandates are not far off.
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
Yah somewhat, but people still aren't being as safe as they should be
Zonuss · 41-45, M
Yes. Way better.
