Cold fruit of different kinds? They don't have to be too far on the sweet side. Melons, cucumbers.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@UnderLockDown Melons and cucumbers are anti-inflammatory. I had a bit of green melon last week and am trying to eat one smaller cucumber a day. Any green vegetable is also anti-inflammatory and they all agree with me except for Iceberg lettuce. I have a large container of leaf lettuce and cucumbers and make a salad for dinner from that. Don’t want much dressing with it though. I cooked a bit of fresh spinach and ate that too. And a piece off flounder.

How about vegan yogurt? I have the Alpro ones.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@MentalMyrtle what’s in vegan yogurt?
@cherokeepatti either soya, oat or almond usually sometimes coconut.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@MentalMyrtle no oats or soy
GoFish ·
idk i like eating cereals sometimes
GoFish ·
@cherokeepatti nice i eat oatmeal or grits or cream of wheat sometimes
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@GoFish I don’t eat oatmeal or wheat due to them having gluten in them. Oats are supposed to be gluten free but they have something similar to gluten. A bowl of oatmeal would bloat me up badly. I could make a porridge from grits, I have some at home. Could flavor it up a bit for breakfast.

@cherokeepatti oh ☺ i usually have milk and butter and eggs in my grits and salt

My nan suffered with bad ingestion problems and could only eat very plain food in small quantities. One day I bought her a few little jars of baby food and she ate them all and didn't have any problems.
I'm following something called a FODMAP diet.

FODMAP is an acronym for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols. The key word is Fermentable and practically all carbs are such to some extent. The intent of the diet is to help reveal what foods may be causing GI distress. The initial stage is to eliminate all the likely candidates then bring them back one at a time. The challenge there is that high FODMAP foods are practically all our most popular comfort foods, and just the suggestion of what's left can dull the appetite. So a tag-along likely affect is a weight loss.

One good thing about FODMAP is that it's pretty popular and there's lots of internet support via AI and recipe suggestions. Just type "Is XXXXX low FODMAP" at a Google AI prompt an you get an immediate answer, followed by an endless stream of explanation. Likewise when looking for an alternative recipe.

@Heartlander I can’t take aspirin at all, it will make me vomit and anything with it in it too, even Pepto Bismol. It’s the salicylates in them. Some fruits and veggies have salicylates in them but apparently only a certain amount or type will affect me so I have to be careful about them too.
@cherokeepatti One product that always seems to be at peace with my stomach is GRITS, and while that may seem to be like eating stale air, they do take well to additives to mask the stale air taste. An added feature when cooking for one, is if prepared in a microwave there is a total of one bowl and one spoon from start to finish, so unless you dribble some, as close to zero cleanup afterwards as possible :)
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Heartlander I have grits and need to cook them for breakfast since the weather has chilled down. I usually make brown rice porridge.
ElyssTTTrucks · 100+, M
Maybe another egg salad sandwich.
And perhaps consider looking into alternative cancer treatments
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@ElyssTTTrucks They are looking at another treatment.
ElyssTTTrucks · 100+, M
@cherokeepatti Maybe something outside of or in addition to allopathic medicine.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@ElyssTTTrucks I don’t know about that. Even antiparasite meds can cause liver damages.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
some peanuts and and apple?
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Pretzel Peanuts may not be so good other than maybe 10. I have been eating a couple of peeled apples each week.
Penny · 51-55, F

cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Penny I have a Nutribullet and can make them with almond milk. Probably no syrup, maybe a touch of Manuka medical grade honey and some stevia
Penny · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti that sounds good :) i hope you feel better soon eta- i usually make them with water. the walnuts make it milky but almond milk sounds good too even creamier.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Penny Thank you
Fishy · 36-40, F
Broth?
Rosol (Polish chicken soup)
I think the recipe is pretty standard, but I can give you our recipe if you need?
(the pasta is optional btw, its pretty nice either way)
Fishy · 36-40, F
Also, seriously gurl... you probably should get a check up :c
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Fishy I have had several medical appointments each month. I also had an annual checkup with my primary care doctor besides my oncologist. I have cancer, on chemo pills, had an iron infusion, and now my digestive system is inflamed.

I think you should make a list of the things you CAN eat....stuff that you've eaten, and it sat well on your poor little tummy. Make up some of that egg salad again, for instance. You know you love omelettes with chopped green onions!
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@4meAndyou I can eat almost any kind of green veggies and they are easy on me. Also some fruits. The boy got some more green onions for me and I am making egg salad for us this afternoon.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
