If there was a squirrel dinner would you come

I personally love squirrel but I also grew up poor so animals were food most of the time.

I grew up hunting squirrels, and other game, to help put meat on my family's table.

In Gillett, Arkansas there is a big barbequed coon dinner once a year, it is always sold out right after one ends for the next year! It's limited to 300 people under roof at one time due to available space and fire dept. regulations.

There are other game animals I like better, but squirrel is far better than going hungry

When I saw this, I thought this must refer to a dinner to which squirrels are invited! It didn't occut to me that anyone might want to eat the poor little blighters 🐿
