Ever get a burn feel in throat from garlic?

This has happened twice before, so I must have an insensitivity to garlic...but my throat has felt like a burning feel the last 15 minutes after garlic bread. Ever have that? I think its just starting to diminish a bit...eek felt like heartburn, but in your throat. Weird, this only started happening since last year. My whole life it never really occurred😒

Is there a possibility you’re turning into a vampire?
I have had burning before. Especially if I eat garlic by itself or if there is a lot in the food. It's from the sulfur content of the garlic that causes the burning. Same as onions. The fresher the garlic the worse the burning can be. Like straight up raw garlic burns/upsets the digestive track something fierce.
As long as you aren't having trouble breathing you should be okay. Might burn but as long as you can breathe.

@canusernamebemyusername Ty..yeah I was like geesh I hope my throat doesnt constrict, because I read ppl can be allergic to garlic, or..they can have a sensitivity to it, and get burn feeling. I think I fall in that category..but strange, this never used to occur! 😞
@Coralmist You can develop allies or sensitivity to things over time with repeated exposure. I had that happen to me with super glue. Now I'm allergic to it:(
Not ever.
Eating a piece of garlic burns my mouth for a bit, but it goes away quickly.
But garlic bread? No.

@nonsensiclesnail this piece was super garlicky. It has just started to ease, ugh
@Coralmist that sounds rather uncomfortable. Food shouldn’t hurt.

Sounds like the garlic want cooked enough... Raw garlic tends to have that effect on some

some allergies / sensitivities develop much later in life.
