Is flirting cheating? Like, if your partner flirted with other people, would it bother you?

I know a guy who constantly flirts with girls and gets flirted with but he has a girlfriend. He said it's not a big deal but I think it is? We're friends and get flirty with each other but I didnt know he had a gf until today. I feel kinda gross about it

If it’s harmless flirting and goes no further I really don’t think it’s a big deal. When he flirted with you and you flirted back, did you ever consider it more than that?

@TravisTx Nah it was all pretty light hearted. We never went past that

@LadyGemini then it’s probably harmless. His gf probably knows he’s a flirt. Haha!

My man flirts but I've never minded. I flirt on occasion too.
I do it with guys at work. It's just fun. Nothing to get insecure or jealous over.

I believe it is, unless you're in a poly or open relationship. At the very least it's not transparent as you could lead someone on and hurt them. Especially if you know them well.

Flirting would be considered as emotional cheating.

Flirting by definition would be considered as

"a sexual behavior involving spoken or written communication, as well as body language, by one person to another, to suggest interest in a deeper relationship with the other person".

This deeper relation are the key words. If the opportunity would arise, the one flirting would probably take it a step further and thus, potentially cheating on his or her partner.
I think it depends on their intentions and boundaries agreed to with your partner.

He's disrespecting his girlfriend and also whoever he's flirting with.

Unless you have an agreement with your partner, then yeah, its emotional cheating on his behalf.

All cheating starts off with something small and harmless....untill it isnt.

It is to me
Just means he will cheat no matter who he is with. Stay clear of him unless you are interested in an open relationship.

No. My wife has always been a natural flirt. It's who she is.

Not at all

If you are giving someone attention and sexual interest that is cheating. Call it what you want but i dont want you.
Pisciatto1 · 26-30, M
No it would not
Ofcourse it is gross.... Well no offense, you allowed it in the first place. Isn't it
@UltimateDemiGoddess okay.... But why flirt with a friend.????
It simply doesn't matter if she knew about the gf or not. And what kinda friend he is, who didn't mention about having a gf already. Now you probably know why....
UltimateDemiGoddess · 31-35, F
@Royricky09 okay now I'm assuming that she didn't mean friend, she probably meant colleague/acquaintance that she was friendly with. But that's just going into too much detail. All I know is in many cases it starts as friends.
@UltimateDemiGoddess that's quite immature.....there's always a catch.
SlapHappy · 36-40, M
it's fun banter till it isn't
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
No, there is a marked difference between flirting and cheating
benfaltiger004 · 51-55, M
As long as the partner knows about the intentions, it cannot be termed cheating.
ShadowSoul · 26-30, M
It is if the relationship is serious
