Real life kisses vs movie kisses

Is there an overlap, ever? Or are movie kisses just meant to look good to the audience rather than mouth open and tongues just randomly flopping against each other? So far I've only experienced the latter and I don't find it stimulating, attractive or arousing, at all. While movie kisses look more sensual, taking their time to really feel the other person.

Was I just unlucky so far in terms of kissing partners (for me, don't want to judge anyone here who enjoy the kissing style mentioned above) or do I simply have the wrong expectations of kissing?

Real can be way better because of how you feel with that person...
Specially if there's love.. Passion.
Villanelle · 36-40, F
@SW-User yeah yeah that's what they say. But when i get a tongue stuck into my mouth that just swirling around i feel nothing or disgusted.

@SW-User and saliva 🙊
SW-User
@Villanelle maybe you didn't like those people that kissed you enough?? Weren't really attracted to them??
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Not enough attention is paid to neck kisses, ear kisses, and forehead kisses, IMHO.

@Harmonium1923 and leg kisses

On screen kisses are, as you say, meant to look good — they're a visual fantasy. In person kisses are supposed to feel good, to invoke within the participants the feelings that the visuals on screen provoke, and more.

It sounds like you haven't been kissing someone who invoked those feelings in you, which suggests that you may need to improve the quality of your dating pool and to also do more kissing.

Well plenty of people in the film/tv industry shack up together because they are better than everyone else so of course kissing on film and tv crosses over to real life. I can't watch romantic moments or sex scenes on tv or movies and will walk away rather than cringe through them since it reminds of me of what I don't have - a fulfilling adult perhaps sexual perhaps romantic relationship - and I feel sick watching people who do (or for the purpose of the camera pretend to).

I hate when movies are too close to the actors' mouths during kiss scenes. It literally disgusts me.
Movie kisses are acting. Scripted. There is no feeling.
Villanelle · 36-40, F
@AtticEscapee you don't say
JustScott · M
I don’t think you have been really kissed.

@JustScott 😘

that slobbery clumsy kissing,, is often the result of sexual starvation
like how right after that firs kiss? his hands all ar over your chest ot trying to strip you

a Man,, not a boy, will want to tkae the time,, to enjoy every stage of sexual contact. not 4 play, 64 play ilove extended kissing, and it leas to the neck,, the collar bone,and as far as she seems to like or want
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
It isn't just kissing in movies, it's everything. They're stories and their visuals. Expecting real life to be like them is asking for trouble, in my opinion. I think Disney have a lot to answer for, personally. Some people never seem to grow up from what they feed.

Fake passion like in the movies, your partner will get ignited, true passion will follow.
SW-User
@eMortal I don't understand what you're saying
eMortal · M
@SW-User when you want a passionate kiss put in some passion yourself. Your partner will suddenly try to match your enthusiasm, then you’ll both find the flow that suits you best.

Why don't you tell the guy to slow down and take his time you don't eat a steak in 5 min so don't rush this..
Villanelle · 36-40, F
@dale74 good point, but since it wasn't just one person and they all seemed to be enjoying it I don't want to go around dictating how people kiss when it is very well my problem, whatever it is
dale74 · M
@Villanelle I don't know my first girlfriend back when I was a teenager she taught me how to kiss and I've never had any complaints but you just take your time you don't shove your tongue down their mouth you more like enjoy the adventure take your time explore the sites but don't make the other person gag. Kind of like when I give a woman oral
Adamski24 · 41-45, M

@SW-User agreed
Adamski24 · 41-45, M
@SW-User @Villanelle i also agree looks like inexperience

I think most things in movies is for looking good on film or driving a story and not really about how things are in reality.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
Maybe you have just been unlucky. With the right person, at the right moment they can be quite wonderful.
MichaelT · 36-40, M
I feel the same. Maybe someday I will meet a great kisser or maybe there isn't one.
agreed if you cant kiss long and slow, savoring you lover
you have never kissed
dale74 · M
You just getting with the wrong person
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Tongues randomly flopping against each other... lmfao... You sound like an alien describing passionate kissing 🤣 Girl, the moment you're so in love that you want to borderline fuse into the other person, it doesn't matter how randomly the tongues flop.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Villanelle Do you really want my empathy for tongue flops?
Villanelle · 36-40, F
@MartinTheFirst no for the fact that this is really something i have a problem with and is weighing on me. But what was I expecting from the internet, silly me
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Villanelle Oh, didn't think it was that deep from the way you worded it. Well if it's a deep problem then you do have my empathy, and I hope you'll find someone that you love enough where the kissing style either matches or doesn't matter to you anymore.
caccoon · 36-40
You've had bad kissing partners.

There are a lot of them
