Should a first date cost over $100?

SW-User
Those panties better drop for $100

@SwampFlower same. don’t want to feel obligated for anything. I make my own choices on that and don’t want any pressure.
TexChik · F
@Justenjoyit hopefully "he" will untie you in the morning! 😂
tallpowerhouseblonde · 31-35, F
Some first dates can but it is getting rarer.Men now are aware that they can be used for a "foodie date" where women go on dates just to get a free meal and have no romantic interest in the guy.
in10RjFox · M
@tallpowerhouseblonde there are still many who jump to dates just to go expensive pubs and restaurants.. but they will avoid phone calls or video calls saying "I don't know if you are for real " .. 😀😀😀
NCCindy · 36-40, F
I'd be uncomfortable if it did
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@NCCindy no doubt in the economy it should cost over $100
NCCindy · 36-40, F
@Bill1372 When I was single, I was perfectly happy to have some casual time getting to know someone on the first couple of dates !!!

I'd also add that I never had a problem either paying for some of my dates or splitting the cost. It quickly eliminates the any thought that I "owe" the guy something !!!
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@NCCindy I’ve always like to pay regardless of wether there was something for me on the back end of the date or not… lol… if I asked you out, I’m paying.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
I would think that depends on finances and tastes

When I've got it to spare I don't mind to spend $100+ to go do something fun, like riding horses and a nice meal or going to ride roller coasters

Some would have more fun with a hike in the woods and a pretty view with good conversation
Our first day cost me less than 40 bucks. We were both so tired. We opted for tea and cakes before heading our separate ways.
Bang5luts · M
@DrScissorhands no foot rubs, or gentle shoulder massage ffs?
@Bang5luts Nope. We just came out of work equally exhausted

That all depends upon the folks involved on the date in question desires in my opinion. Hell with the damn economy the way it is $100 is very easily reached for two people.
It depends on where he takes you..

It shouldn't be about the cost.. it should be about the experience
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
I prefer free or cheap dutch first dates to keep certain expectations out of the equation.
SW-User
It would not be hard to spend $100 but if they did i would pay half
Depends on the budget and as long as you’re both having fun.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
I’m not into that kind of date
huskyguy89 · 31-35, M
Think it shouldn't be how much ya spend, should be what you put in as far as thought. Take her somewhere memorable, somewhere that means something to her. Or has something that is important to her..🤷‍♂️ least that's the way I see. Just the way I figure it.
exexec · 61-69, C
Times change. Our first two dates cost me nothing because they were to parties. The first costly date cost me 50 cents for gas and $5.00 for movie tickets, popcorn, and drinks.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I suppose it depends on where you live. In a place like NYC that might be the cost of a couple of movie tickets and a small popcorn.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
30 years ago I would have said yes. Today a hundred bucks will barely cover movies tix and a fast food drive thru dinner.
DblRaven · 22-25
Should it, I'd say no. Can it, sure. Id be fine with something simple for a first day.
Rainandforest · 22-25, F
@DblRaven Mc Donalds lol
chrisCA · M
If you are looking at dinner and a movies, yes.
More for theater tickets, instead of a movie.
Could be way less or even much more. there’s not really a rule. lol
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
My first date with my wife was over $100.00 and that was 30 years ago
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
No. That's too much.
Rainandforest · 22-25, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry then how much?
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@Rainandforest honestly the only money I'd ever spend on a date if a girl ever actually did wanna date me, I'd just take her out for 1 drink, to see what she's like and pick her brain a bit. On a first date, I'd never spend all this money on a big fancy dinner. 1 drink and that's it, and if things go very well, maybe a second drink. If things continue going well, then eventually I'd take a girl out to a nice restaurant.
SW-User
It doesn’t have to but it can
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
Do the burgers at Mcdonalds cost that much theses days?
Rainandforest · 22-25, F
@Justenjoyit yes lol
chrisCA · M
@Justenjoyit What would save you money is that there may not be a second date after that. 😅
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
@Justenjoyit just about!
No, unless you're a financial subby
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Only if one of you are a professional.
Swoop62 · M
Not if there is going to be a second.
Fungirlvape · 61-69, F
That’s not much really
deadgerbil · 22-25
For me, hell no
travelguy01 · 41-45, M
That’s a regular dinner out these days. You need to raise the question amount to $200 to account for inflation.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Bang5luts · M
Depends on who is paying 🤔
Rainandforest · 22-25, F
empanadas · 31-35, M
That's too much
