That was the whole purpose of EP and later SW in the past. I have had numerous email/ skype companions and we had no problem in sexual interactions as we kept the online life different from real life.

But the quality of people now is very low. Most of them have trust issues and have become too sensitive and intolerant. And all dating / networking platforms just rob money by employing fake accounts.

I can see it being a valuable resource for someone who's chronically shy for example... Just to practice..
But I would suggest a life style change maybe in order if you do.

Even back in the days of cybersex chat rooms, it was far more than just the sexual fantasy. I have made Internet chat friends around the world that have lasted decades, several of whom I have actually met in real life -- not for sexual or romantic purposes, but because of friendship and shared interests spanning age, geographic, cultural differences/experiences.

I've seen YouTube and Facebook advertising them out to the public pretty frequently. I think it's too soon to tell what affect they have without more testing. I would think most see it as novelty thing rather than a go to for self-care. With anything there is always a small group that gets addicted of course.

In the settings you can chose what your interests are for your own profile...

Unfortunately many don't either use or know about the INTEREST settings.

This site is the off shoot of Experience Project. It isn’t as wild. A normal process of a member is public discussion on other member’s pages.
Then creating your own pages. From there you decide if a private chat or DM is something you would enjoy.
