Happy ordinary day to everyone who is NOT in the USA!

I'm in the US and I concur. I was offended when my family randomly decided to start celebrating Thanksgiving when it has never been a thing for us, but they decided the grandkids were born in the US and should celebrate
[@1220692,Jenny1234] because we are not american and we had never celebrated it before.

[@33783,MaliaAgain] but you’re living in the US so it’s hypocritical that you’re offended by their celebrations but yet you choose to live there.

All of the newcomers to Canada that I know love taking part in our tradition of thanksgiving because they say they are grateful to be here
[@1220692,Jenny1234] I think its hypocritical to celebrate things I don't believe in, like the murdering of natives

[@17829,TryingtoLava] Have to love how she turned lemons into lemonade. Rather nice landing on the bench instead of sprawling all over the floor.

What does thanksgiving day celebrate exactly?
[@760047,MarmeeMarch] like we need an excuse to do any of that. But no, it's a time when families make an effort to get together and enjoy memories and a meal together.

If someone chooses not to celebrate it for whatever reason, even if they absolutely hate the holiday, that's all good and fine. But, there's no reason to be a dick and try to ruin it for those who do enjoy it.
