What does thanksgiving day celebrate exactly?
MaliaAgain · 36-40, F
@Entwistle from what I understand, the pilgrims had a dinner with the Indians (im just not sure if it was before or after all the murdering). Nowadays it is about football, parades, lots of food, black Friday shopping, and maybe being thankful

@MaliaAgain Thanks.
@Entwistle Thanksgiving is a holiday to reflect upon and be thankful for friends, family and all you have in life. Of course, it's also a time when some angsty, killjoy feels the uncontrollable need to crap on everyone's good moods by arguing politics and/or pointing out how "bloodthirsty" the Pilgrims were.
@PrivateHell I am thankful all the time - not just on this day. Just another excuse for Amerifats to straddle their chairs up to the trough like pigs - unbutton their pants and watch football, - retârds...
@MarmeeMarch like we need an excuse to do any of that. But no, it's a time when families make an effort to get together and enjoy memories and a meal together.

If someone chooses not to celebrate it for whatever reason, even if they absolutely hate the holiday, that's all good and fine. But, there's no reason to be a dick and try to ruin it for those who do enjoy it.
