I'm in the US and I concur. I was offended when my family randomly decided to start celebrating Thanksgiving when it has never been a thing for us, but they decided the grandkids were born in the US and should celebrate

@MaliaAgain Ah, that’s interesting. I have friends who use it as an opportunity to get together and eat, but they don’t call it anything special.

@MaliaAgain but you’re living in the US so it’s hypocritical that you’re offended by their celebrations but yet you choose to live there.

All of the newcomers to Canada that I know love taking part in our tradition of thanksgiving because they say they are grateful to be here
