When it comes to relationships does race/culture matter to you?

In friendships color doesn’t matter, BUT. I’m relationships it does matter to me because as a white woman, I’m attracted to white men. I just can’t see myself in an interracial relationship/marriage. I don’t wanna mess up out bloodline. It’s not racist preferring your own race. Most people prefer their own race anyways. Everyone should stick with their own kind anyways. My friend has never dated back men. I told her, “Look I’m happy for you but I’ve never seen you with a black man. What you’re too good for them and don’t want dark babies? You should not be a shame of your culture.” She just gave me a look. I’m just being honest.
People can do what they want but I don’t support interracial relationships/marriages.

It does in a visceral sort of way. When I was very young, (about 11 or 12), there was a super attractive young Mexican boy at the local swimming pool. He was so kind, and paid attention to me when no one else did. His name was Terry. My mother, unfortunately, noticed that I was talking to him, and told me not to speak to him or hang out with him.

The second boy to whom I was very attracted was the 18 year old son of a Pakistani exchange scientist. I was 13 at the time. He had SUCH beautiful eyes. He gave me my first kiss!

When I was older, (about 16), and trying to date people I liked, I found a very light almost white skinned "black" boy in high school, and arranged a date because he was so nice, and we were both involved with the Drama club...but my mother turned him away at the door.

My mother was quite the nasty dragon and put the fear of ostracization in me...and basically, she only liked white gay boys...(so that tells you a bit more).

I knew I could not marry outside my own race, with a mother like her.

@4meAndyou we’ll she may have good tensions. Sorry she’s mean but it’s better to stick with your own race.
@PetiteJulie01 So young to be so racist.........

To answer your question, race and culture does not matter to me. The person does and how they make me feel. I'm curious to know about other cultures than my own.

To be more specific about your post; "I don’t wanna mess up out bloodline" is a very racial statement.
Personally, yes. Just my preference.

@LordShadowfire whatever man you’re going to have to come up with a better roast then that! Lol
That was pathetic

"White" may be a racialiced term but there is no such thing as a homogenous white race.

I don’t wanna mess up out bloodline. It’s not racist preferring your own race.

On the basis of who you happen to be attracted to no but on the basis of Nazi like racial purity bullshit it absolutely is racist.

@specman All humans have mixed blood unless they are inbred.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@CorvusBlackthorne Technically speaking if you're going to go that far their bloodline will be mixed Adam of Adam and eve are of responsible for all mankind,
People don't go back that far. They usually only go back maybe 4 or 5 generations maybe more but they don't go back to the beginning of time.

@Gloomy Even though you might not be a Christian I have become or trying to become a better Christian. Instead of being mad I pray for everyone and every situation. I can love the person and still dislike the sin. That helps me cope better in a way. I’m still disagreeing with some of the things I said in the past, but I make it a point to pray for myself and the person(s) and the situation. I’m trying to be a one hundred percent Christian. We are to love everyone. I’m trying to keep my core values God, family, country. I know that what I believe and do don’t always line up with being a Christian. Please don’t think bad of all christians. All christians should love the people and dislike the sin. We should not make it about the people. I have been trying to be that way. I personally don’t want to dislike people . I know I’m probably offending you now by saying something you don’t believe in. I heard a saying that I like. It is my favorite “it is what it is”. Anyway I just thought I would let you know my Goal is to love everyone and hate the sun not the person. I’m still a work in process. It may take me a long time to master the concept. But I’m trying and praying. I’m sharing something real. You might not know where I’m coming from or think that I’m just saying a load of bs.

Well, I feel anyone and everyone can make their own decisions/choices.
Nobody has the right to tell them they can't !!

Colour I don't care but if someone has very different values or beliefs because of their culture, I could see that incompatibility being a problem in the future.
we all have preferences, whatever they may be. and there is nothing wrong with that.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MayorOfCrushtown I mean, you're entitled to your opinion, but did you notice where she said she doesn't want to mess up her bloodline? Like, what does that mean? Is she trying not to mix her pure Aryan blood with that of a member of a lesser race?
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@MayorOfCrushtown thank you. That’s all I’m saying. It’s just my preference. Let’s face it, most people prefer their own race anyways. It’s normal. If they wanna safe outside their race, that’s fine too but don’t expect me to agree with it.
It should with romantic relationships. If someone is from a culture that operates differently i.e. family, you shouldn't try and change them or affect their relationship with their family just because it drives you up the wall.

Edit:

I've just seen your stick with your own kind comment, how racist!

One might well argue that miscegenation is ultimately genocide.
@onewithshoes I think the only reasonable way to argue that is if it's forced. If there were laws saying you can only reproduce with people of a different race or ethnicity, that would be a genocide.

@LordShadowfire She lacks the intellectual capacity to understand a textbook.

@CorvusBlackthorne So what? You can’t handle an honest woman? It’s a preference

By the way, I fixed your profile picture.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Gloomy I've heard that one. There's actually a theory that Nazism was invented by the Jews in their ongoing attempt to play the victim in order to gain sympathy. Like, what sense does that make?

Not that it matters, since we all know racism doesn't have a rational basis. But I just love analyzing stupid theories like that. 😆
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@LordShadowfire WOULD YOU STOP THAT?! Enough!!!
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@PetiteJulie01 She said, again two months after my last comment. Don't like being shown up as a racist? Quit being racist.

Oh, look, @PetiteJulie01. You have a kindred spirit.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Been a while since you posted something racially charged that you could then pretend wasn't meant in a racist way, has it?
@LordShadowfire If it's her own PERSONAL preference fine, but seeing interracial couples clearly triggers her.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Yeah, and that whole thing about her not wanting to mess up her bloodline. I get having a sexual type, and I have one myself. But it's not because I'm worried about my pure Aryan blood mixing with inferior stock.
@LordShadowfire
Yeah, and that whole thing about her not wanting to mess up her bloodline

Oh ffs!
