When it comes to relationships does race/culture matter to you?

In friendships color doesn’t matter, BUT. I’m relationships it does matter to me because as a white woman, I’m attracted to white men. I just can’t see myself in an interracial relationship/marriage. I don’t wanna mess up out bloodline. It’s not racist preferring your own race. Most people prefer their own race anyways. Everyone should stick with their own kind anyways. My friend has never dated back men. I told her, “Look I’m happy for you but I’ve never seen you with a black man. What you’re too good for them and don’t want dark babies? You should not be a shame of your culture.” She just gave me a look. I’m just being honest.
People can do what they want but I don’t support interracial relationships/marriages.

It does in a visceral sort of way. When I was very young, (about 11 or 12), there was a super attractive young Mexican boy at the local swimming pool. He was so kind, and paid attention to me when no one else did. His name was Terry. My mother, unfortunately, noticed that I was talking to him, and told me not to speak to him or hang out with him.

The second boy to whom I was very attracted was the 18 year old son of a Pakistani exchange scientist. I was 13 at the time. He had SUCH beautiful eyes. He gave me my first kiss!

When I was older, (about 16), and trying to date people I liked, I found a very light almost white skinned "black" boy in high school, and arranged a date because he was so nice, and we were both involved with the Drama club...but my mother turned him away at the door.

My mother was quite the nasty dragon and put the fear of ostracization in me...and basically, she only liked white gay boys...(so that tells you a bit more).

I knew I could not marry outside my own race, with a mother like her.

@4meAndyou we’ll she may have good tensions. Sorry she’s mean but it’s better to stick with your own race.
