Strange weather

Hi everyone. I just needed to ask other people to see if you guys are feeling the same way about the weather. I live in the Northeast in the USA, and the weather has been so wonky lately and it’s starting to drive me crazy.
It feels like every year, summer takes longer and longer to arrive. It is the end of May, and I think I saw a post of a snowstorm set to hit the Northeast this week?? I may need to double check that, but I‘m positive I saw that and I literally cant even believe it. I have my window open right now and I can barely stand it. It is actually very cold, but I still can’t believe snow would hit at this time of year.
I have lived here all my life. I do not understand what is happening. I need the sun. It literally helps fight my depression and low energy. But it just feels like winters are wayyy longer and summers are much shorter. Seasons used to have smooth transitions. Now, it feels like they’re all blended together. I’m just so confused.
Is anyone else feeling this way, or can anyone offer an explanation for this??.. or you can tell me if you think I’m just crazy lol.

It's crazy everywhere!
The more trees & bushes we rip out & build something, we change the environment.
Plants produce oxygen & absorb carbon dioxide.... people produce carbon dioxide & absorb oxygen, the more we do this things will continue to get worse!! The weather HAS GOT TO CHANGE!!!!!

@RockinPop54 I totally agree, people in the US seem to be getting very tired of these super wealthy people destroying everything. Tension is rising. Weather is acting strange. I feel like we’re headed towards a very dark, dystopian future. And it feels like it’s right around the corner 😒
@Edashh2399 New Jersey is still CALLED "The Garden State". But it's become "The Developer's State"!!
I absolutely HATE THEM!!!!

If it's any consolation, there has been a similar strange weather pattern across Europe this week.

As others have said, we need to make the best of what we've got. I dread the winter too and wish the summer were more predictable. I find being outdoors whenever possible helps. Even when the sky is completely clouded over, about 70% of the sun's energy is still getting through in day time.
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl yes actually, this is a lot of consolation. I posted this on Reddit, and there are some less than pleasant people on there, and even more who disagree which is fine. But it does make me feel like I’m going crazy.
Talking to you guys makes me feel like I’m not alone in my growing frustrations.

And that’s also very valuable information to me, I thought the heavy clouds were blocking out the sun almost entirely.
It feels like summer is just teasing us these days. Thank you for your time and your opinion on this matter!

Here in Oklahoma it doesn't start to warm up tell the second or 3 week of june. Then it is hot as can be in July up to the last week before Halloween
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@smileylovesgaming going based off what I experienced from the early 2000’s up to the 2020’s, by this time of year there would be few days dropping down to 50°. The mornings would start off warm, even with rain. It would be consistently and steadily transitioning to the next season.
Now, I look out the window and I’m like “wait, what season are we in again?”
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, FVIP
@Edashh2399 do you live in the mountains
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@smileylovesgaming I do live near mountains, but I don’t live in them. I live in CT. Sorry it took so long to say that, but everyone’s making me feel comfortable enough to say it now haha

Eastern Pennsylvania here and yes, the weather has been really crazy this year
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
@AthrillatheHunt ever been to Knoebels
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Jonjdw no what’s that
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
@AthrillatheHunt it’s a theme park with free admission and free parking. And camping. It’s amazing that it’s still free admission and free parking.

At the beginning of the week it was in the 90s here. This morning it's 50 and raining and it's going to be rainy/cloudy for days and days. That's depressing but for me, better than the heat waves which are getting tough to deal with at my age.
Rambler · 61-69, M
@Edashh2399 yeah my kid can work outside all day, but not me anymore lol
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@Rambler you are blessed to have a beautiful life ❤
I guess all we can do is keep living out these crazy days until it’s our time
Rambler · 61-69, M
@Edashh2399 that's my plan ;)
Bill67 · 56-60, M
Same here in ireland we had 50 days of rain in January and February
And now we are expecting a couple of days of blistering sun
Bill67 · 56-60, M
@Edashh2399 we don't get flooding thank god
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@Bill67 ohh wow, regardless of anything 50 days of rain and then sudden heat must feel like whiplash!
Bill67 · 56-60, M
@Edashh2399 the weather is our main topic of conversation
Keep an eye on the radar maps. When you see the clouds suddenly slow down or stop moving entirely then it is Summer. Until then you get what you get. Weather keeps rolling past at an insane rate sometimes and it causes all these temperature fluctuations.
Not quite summer yet but getting close.
Rain is a good thing at this point, and any snowpack in the mountains can help with water through the hot Summer.
Soon everyone will be complaining it is too hot.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Freaking 90 last week and not even cracking 60 this weekend.
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@AthrillatheHunt THANK YOU! It’s just literal confusion! It makes no sense whatsoever, and I’m getting so irritated. I want to enjoy late spring/early summer like how I used to. It just isn’t the same.
Kiesel · 56-60, M
It’s been an odd May for where I am in Texas
Started out blazing hot.. but then we were hit with a uncharacteristic cold snap.. now it’s warming back up
Storm season hasn’t hit yet like normal
So that means it’ll visit next month
Kiesel · 56-60, M
@Edashh2399 somewhat…
They seem like storm season here…
We’ll get hit with horrid hail storms about once every 2-3 years..
hurricane season seems to have a similar frequency… imo at least
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@Kiesel oh man, we don’t get hail too much here but I’ve seen crazy videos of hail destroying vehicles and homes. The hail I’ve seen at most is about the size of like epsom salt grains haha
Kiesel · 56-60, M
@Edashh2399 we can see hail the size of baseballs… golf ball size isn’t uncommon at all either

The weather has changed every everywhere. In uk we have a heateave. But a few days ago we were wearing coats. Asyou say, it often feels like the seasons have blended together. We just have to make the most of it when we can.
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@meggie Thank you, it’s so weird because people are not talking about it at all. I thought I was the only one. But today with how cold it is I’m realizing so many things. Over the years, the transition from winter, to spring, to summer has not been consistent. It’s always cold, and there’s just not enough warm summer nights and I really miss them. But I guess you’re right, I mean what can we really do other than complain?
No, I don't think you're crazy. The weather patterns are constantly shifting. The shift seems to be extreme these days. I don't know that anyone has the answer. The weather has changed a lot where I live, too. All I can do is ride it out and try to adjust to it. I know it's not going to adjust to me.
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@PhoenixPhail you’re very right sir, all we can do is adapt like we are all so used to. I was just becoming increasingly frustrated, because I was wondering how is it that we could’ve possibly gotten to this point? And will it become worse and more obvious? I wondered if it could be cloud seeding or global warming, or whatever. Something that could make sense of all this. I guess we’ll just never truly know. It could be a whole combination of things 😭
Ferric67 · M
It’s wonky
I agree
Edashh2399 · 26-30, F
@Ferric67 thank you, it’s really becoming annoying because a nice day helps me feel more motivated. Lately, I feel like every year I’m waiting and waiting but it’s just not coming around how it used to.
