I've been all over the USA. I seen the Bluffs in Wisconsin, Montana's Northern Great Plains, driving on old route 66 from almost end to end.

For me, personality I loved the views of Utah. If you love scenic drives. Then Utah the state for you.

I might be prejudice, because I live there, but having been in 48 states I'll say California.
Every state has some form of natural beauty but none have the diversity of CA which has it all.
And, outside of Alaska, it has the most protected wilderness in the country so it's accessible.

I don't know that you can compare the beauty of the desert with ocean views, forest or mountain views and the bigger lakes. They all have their own beauty.
Being from the country north of the USA I've visited only two American cities: Detroit and Buffalo. But, based on this small sampling, I can definitely say neither New York nor Michigan are contenders for the most beautiful.

@rinkydinkydoink well... Detroit is improperly exploded ordinance, poorly maintained
@dirge

Buffalo was about the same... in the 70s. Lots of abandoned buildings (and cars too if I remember correctly).

@rinkydinkydoink between Buffalo and Detroit, I'd think the same but I'll point out that the Catskills and other areas upstste in NY and the many places in the Upper Peninsula in MI [Porcupine Mountain, Copper Harbor/ Keweenaw Peninsula, Ottawa Ntl Forest] are gorgeous.

Alaska - has the most pristine wildlife and outdoors vistas. It's gorgeous. If I could afford to live there I would.
@SumKindaMunster yes…but so cold.
@SumKindaMunster or it says it feels like a certain temp in Fahrenheit even though it’s another temp☺
I'm partial to the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest, but equally stunned by the deserts of Arizona and Nevada.

Of the states I've been to and know a little about, Washington is gorgeous.
- California's north and central coast
- Washington west of the Cascades (not as nice as NorCal though)
- New York's Hudson Valley (but the winters suck)
- coastal Maine (but the winters suck)

because I love the convergence of mountains and sea for one thing, and year-round mild climates like coastal NorCal (and less snow on the west coast in general compared to the east coast), I like the forest landscapes of NorCal in particular with tree species such as the Monterey cypress and redwoods, but NY and Maine have more autumn color changes too)

I like rocky headlands, coastal prairies, and sparsely populated rural beaches with tall sand dunes too (NorCal)

For me it's a toss up between Arizona and Washington state. Those mountains. 😍
MA because I’m here 🙄

Hawaii would be my guess

This is subjective though

hunkalove · 70-79, M
Detroit. Surf's up!
G7J2O · M
@hunkalove I'm not American, but even I know Detroit is not a state.
