GULF OF AMERICA!

That part near the Mexico coast is actually a Bay. The wider opening isn't protected from the open ocean and it's a gulf.

Part of it should be named Grand bay of Mexico and the rest should be renamed the Gulf Of North America.

In the next hundred years when technology makes it possible to populate, research and farm the sea floor every country will have to come to grips with creating clear lines of border between the coastal regions.

While backwards people argue the US and Mexico will be light years ahead of the rest of the world.

I'm gonna give Trump the respect for being the thinker that he earns for once. I think the opposing ones are just jealous because they didn't think of it first.

Re Google Maps -- I've read that the name "Gulf of America" ONLY shows up on the maps if you're accessing the app from the US -- that the rest of the world still sees "Gulf of Mexico".

I left be on the Gulf coast....it's the Gulf of Mexico.

Probably will be returned to the Gulf of mexicot the day after the next demo in the White House.

I think the renaming of things is common especially among the progressives. Anything politically incorrect is soon to be renamed. There is a mountain in Alberta that for as long as there is record was called 'Squaw's Tit". It bears a striking resemblance to a woman't breast hence its name. Someone decided that the Indian word for woman "Squaw" was offensive so the name must be changed. How silly. Now it is called Bald Eagle Peak.

It’s only in America. For the rest of us in the world if you use Google maps it’s still says Gulf of Mexico.

I do agree that it is ridiculous and a waste of time and resources but don't sit here and talk about national pride when it comes to America being a bad thing but yet be okay that Viva La Mexico can wave their flag and tout their name either it's a little hypocritical

Goggle maps are saying Gulf of America now.

Any bright kid studying history will understand what this is all about when they look at the old maps and consider the list of things she/he is not allowed to even think about. Must be a bit like Russia.

In Florida we just call it the Gulf. Not of Mexico or America just the Gulf. What's wrong with that? Why can't it just be called the Gulf.

Google are hedging their bets outside the US

This happened because Google is controlled by the US government through extortion. This is also why anything negative about the USA that was formerly found on Google, is no longer there... it's all been removed, particularly anything about the USA screwing Canada in international trade deals dating back to the 1960's.
