Judging by these shots alone I'd very much prefer Boston, far more similar to what we have here.
That Roman-like chessboard pattern of NY would drive me crazy before it makes reaching a place easier. It made sense 2000 years ago, not with cars. I mean, you're constantly stopping at a crossing / red light? It's painful to watch 🥴
@SomeMichGuy Kinda, the government haven't released any in a while, and the ones already assigned are sold/transfered and treated de facto as if they are some sort of feudal right.
On top of that the category is notorious for evading taxes like crazy, and opposing any competition (e.g. Uber)
@SomeMichGuy Beaches, pharmacies, skiing facilities to name a few have more or less the same licensing system.
Make it make sense, we've liberalized things like energy, telco, highways and such critical infrastructure, but taxis need protection from capitalism lol
@Thinkerbell Don't get me started on the Cape Wind project. That would've been so good for the Cape. 😤
@Thrust You're talking about Buddy Cianci. Yes, he was known as the Prince of Providence and at one point was the youngest elected mayor of a major city in America (or something like that). He rebuilt the downtown area and went to federal prison for it. But he died years ago when I was still in undergrad in Providence. I'm not sure the year ... 2015 or 2016.
@Thinkerbell usually they find the one double parked vehicle on the other side and double park right across the street from it. Blocking the entire street
@sarabee1995 No I haven't made it there yet. I did ride the train from TD Garden arena up to Portland Maine to see Cape Elizabeth lighthouse. That was a alot if fun. So pretty up through there and the lighthouse was amazing. Seems like it was about a 2 1/2 hour train ride to Portland.
As a child, I spent more than a couple of summer vacations on the Cape with relatives in West Barnstable and East Sandwich. What a great place it was to visit!
