I was driving on Commonwealth Ave in the right-hand lane of two eastbound lanes in Back Bay. I saw a taxi double-parked up ahead, so I moved to the left lane to pass him. As I approached, the taxi driver suddenly opened his door, forcing me to swerve onto the left shoulder of the road to avoid hitting his door. 🙄 🙄 🙄
I was on a major thoroughfare during a traffic tie-up where cars were just crawling along, with many stops between crawls.
There was a side entry ramp from a cross street that a guy was trying to enter from, with no success; the Boston drivers wouldn't let him in.
Finally, when a small gap developed, the guy on the entry ramp pulled forward a little bit, and opened his door at the same time, so that his door was now between two cars on the main road. The guy behind the door couldn't move forward without hitting the door, so he didn't move.. When the car in front of the open door moved far enough forward to create a space, the guy with the open door moved into the space, closing his door at the same time.
@Thinkerbell usually they find the one double parked vehicle on the other side and double park right across the street from it. Blocking the entire street
