@redredred OK, now you're shifting gears from "too many laws" to "larger administrative state." It's fairly obvious that Denmark has a larger administrative state than Haiti. Which one is more corrupt?

Too many employees at the DMV is just bad management. There are plenty of government departments that are critically understaffed. Right now, the poor performance of the border patrol is a direct result of the Republicans' refusal to adequately fund them. This will all come out if they carry through with their idiotic impeachment of Mayorkas.

Unions can be corrupt. So can private businesses. It's not unions sucking at the government defense teat with their $600 toilet seats.

You must know that when NASA orders a one-off (or twelve-off) all of the development cost must be spread over a tiny production run resulting in an absurd unit cost. Try to acquaint yourself with the distinction between marginal costs and incremental costs.

If I had to wager I would bet Denmark is vastly more corrupt than is Haiti for the simple fact that it has more administrative opportunities (I.e. more laws) within which to cheat.
