What’s weirdest thing about American culture?

@caPnAhab I do see some that are professionals and whatever they specialize in such as they may neglect at home. I think it’s a matter of being overwhelmed professionally and being tired and just putting it off. Like vehicle repair, a/c repair, housekeeping, etc. It’s not laziness but being tired when they get home especially if they work long hours at their own business.

@CountScrofula I love it when people here say "we need to stop sending money to x y z country, etc, so we can spend it on Americans"

But the moment it's suggested to put it into healthcare, education, etc, they will cry about how it's socialism

@Nimbus I don't mind that, to tell the truth. I find the odd turns of phrase 'a tad bit' amusing, 'not that big of a deal', and certainly wouldn't have a 'conniption fit' about any of it.

English is in a strange position, as languages go. It is so widespread that nobody controls it, and so it belongs to everybody. Everyone adds their own little twist.

@badminton Yes. And I get that generalization is dangerous. But there is a tidal flow in America that carries everything with it, in spite of individuals. Most American need to believe in something more than other nations.. If they cant find it, they go looking..😷

@SW-User that's easy to explain. The left doesn't see Biden's crimes because nobody has even made a detailed accusation. (That's not to say there aren't any though. Just none have been brought to light.) The far right isn't blind to Trump's crimes, but they just don't care about those as long as their party wins.
