I Think Britain As A Nation Is Finished

Johnson is trying his Best to finish us off.
Parliament only allowing 50 MP's in at a time, yet wants to put 30 school children into classrooms not even an eighth of the size, You can go to work but avoid travelling,
And some people think Trump is bad,
SW-User
To be fair, policies over returning children to school have not been laid out yet.

The transport one is very vague though. Return to work but don't use public transport if you can avoid it. That's simply not going to be possible for a whole load of people.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@SW-User slight alteration my sorrys, "Could Be next Month apparently"
SW-User
@SW-User Section 44 - don't return unless it's safe 🤷‍♀️
Hueueueue...
HE IS BAD, but not alone in that regard.

Britain, US, Canada, I could name over two dozen nations that are ready to be demolished, pre-civil war/world war stage set.
@RadiantRuby Banning doesn't do anything good for the people.

Of course, I could list all the bad things government has done in the name of asinine beliefs like 'public safety', but I'll just say this.

True freedom has a high cost, and that cost is constant vigilance; disarmed society is an enslaved society, an undeniable fact.
@RadiantRuby based on that fact he should ban all cars that can go over the speed limit. I mean nobody "needs" a corvette is the exact same logic.

Outlaw guns and only the outlawd will have guns still applies
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M
@Amyrakunejo ... you’ve just identified 3 Nations that made up the bulk of the Army that won WW2 and has helped in most wars ever since, if you think those 3 are finished, God help the rest of the World
SW-User
The 2m rule has to apply in school. Hence staggered years returning years 12 and 6.

My wife is working with her other staff from last night discussing how they can spread 93 year 6 pupils around the school, along with the 12 ones still going in. They can "just" do it they believe with full staff compliment. However they have at least two staff shielding (will that be relaxed in July, is it safe to?) and one member who is signed off sick with severe anxiety as a result of this. So they are asking volunteers (yours truly) possibly to come in to help.
Northerner · 70-79, M
It is an economic disaster for the UK and most other countries with mass unemployment to follow.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@Northerner :( true
RannochMan · 70-79, M
I think this Government is putting us all in danger. The whole thing has now become so shambolic nobody knows what the hell is really going on.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@RadiantRuby alot of us don't believe he had it at all,
@MelanieUK Probably did it to get attention, Boris is slimy. If he really had it, his reaction would be different.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@RadiantRuby problem pop's up disappear and let the minions deal with it, Boris's Mantra
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@BigGuy2 nope I specialise in adding idiots to my Blocked list, as for being a Teacher lol far from it, but Iam betting your a brave keyboard warrior sitting in his tiny bedroom at home in his mummy and Daddys house, don't bother replying your now blocked cry boy
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M

I think I'd prefer Boris to Trump - which says more about the low opinion I have of Trump than a positive view of Boris. I'm a committed European and Remainer and I see Boris as the worst kind of opportunist. Though I wouldn't wish the coronavirus on anyone, I think it has been beneficial to the country that Boris got the virus as he's a little bit more robust with the idiots who'd lift the lockdown too early. Still got no idea of his long term plan though, but then again, neither has he.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@SW-User I don't think he had it Jenny, no one else had such a miraculous recovery,
pjeffries85 · 36-40, M
This is happening all over the world. Extreme ideological separations are allowing people to use vitriol and sensationalism to get themselves installed into positions of enormous power that they are in no way qualified to hold. Boris Johnson, Trump, Erdogan, Modi, Bolsanaro in Brazil, many others follow this pattern. Trump and Johnson have the same problem: they simply lack the intelligence to understand the complex decisions that they need to make, and their narcissism will not allow them to accept the insight of experts. Power is shifting to powerful and cunning, if brutal, autocrats like Putin and Xi Jinping. I think we're seeing Western culture in it's death throes.

@BigGuy2 so on my original post that you are Hi-jacking,

Johnson is trying his Best to finish us off.
Parliament only allowing 50 MP's in at a time, yet wants to put 30 school children into classrooms not even an eighth of the size, You can go to work but avoid travelling,
And some people think Trump is bad,

you are advocating putting Children at risk and you think I am a snowflake for going against this, when you have children of your own God forbid they have a more sensible outlook to life than you, you are now on my blocked list again , byeeee
Sharon · F
@MelanieUK You missed a few. :( It's annoying when silly little children try to disrupt serious discussions with their infantile prattle.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@Sharon no I left some just so people would understand why I had deleted, but thanks for noticing x is the numbty still sprouting off?
Sharon · F
@MelanieUK Doesn't appear to be but he shouldn't be able to post to your thread(s) anyway if you've blocked him.
I dont understand half of what is saying. Said yesterday if you cant work from home then go back to work. I would love to go back but cant risk it
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
He's just incompitant, we had more warning than most and we've done the least next to Sweden. Was very frustrating to watch his inaction on this. To the people thinking "its like they're making it up as they go along" they are because they don't know what to do. Thats why plans keep changing all the time.

Either way we'll see, I think it'll be more gradual than he's saying because he doesn't even know himself atm. But then on the other hand hiding away all year isn't an option either.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
well time to log on for work byeeeee to nearly everyone lol xxx
Ian123 · 61-69, M
I don’t think the children will be back until September, I agree with you June does seem a little ambitious. Don’t worry no one will send their kids to school till it’s safe. Lets just wait and see 🤗
SW-User
@MelanieUK be interesting to see if there's a relaxation of schools act in the guidance document this afternoon or whether existing legislation will apply once schools return. Ie fines for parents who don't send thieir kids in
Sharon · F
@SW-User Another point to consider is school uniform. A lot of children will be starting new schools in September. Impoverished parents have to struggle at the best of time, sometimes going hungry, to afford the extortionately priced school uniform. As many of them will have been unable to work and surviving on seriously reduced income (if any at all) buying school uniform will be impossible.

Perhaps parents could turn that to their advantage. If they are unable to buy a school uniform, their children will be isolated from others (social distancing) or, once the school runs out of isolation cells, sent home, thus reducing the risk of them being infected.
SW-User
@SW-User E won't be going back until September if it is safe. She's a summer baby so isn't legally meant to be in school until she's 5 anyway
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
just so people know I have deleted responses to this post by "BigGuy2" who in my view was just a keyboard warrior looking for attention

@Harriet03 ... what !!!

Is that a dig at me or her
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@BigGuy2 ☝️
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
30 children in a classroom?!! Where did you get that from?
Schools won't reopen until June 8, only if the review says so & then only reception fully!!
SW-User
@Harriet03 We've been told June 1st with Year 6 first, 6 to a room. Itll probably all change by this afternoon
Sharon · F
@SW-User What the government says and what it actually does often bear no resemblance to each other.
SW-User
@Sharon no shit
Lhayezee · 26-30, F
To be fair they want all the MPs to go back too (if only because lots of backbench noise is the only way to cover up the fact that Boris is being owned every time Starmer gets up to the dispatch box)
Sharon · F
Before they reopen the schools, lets see all the MPs attend Parliament together.
senghenydd · M
Professor / Lord Winston has just stated on television the common cold is a corona virus well we've never found a vaccine for the common cold maybe a road map for treating the corona virus like a treatment would be practical.
@senghenydd It's actually true; the common cold and influenza are of the corona virus archetype....
SW-User
@Amyrakunejo there are seven coronavirus that infect humans. Flu is not a coronavirus HCoV-229E and HCoV-OC43 account for about 25% of common cold infections. HCoV-NL63 and HCoV-HKU1 complete the human coronavirus species they are associated with quite serious upper respiratory tract infections.

Then the three known zootropic ones SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV and now of course SARS-CoV-2. First came probably from a bat (bats have incredibly well developed immune systems so cause coronavirus to mutate to more harmful types but got to humans via a cevit cat MERS-CoV famously via camels. The latest is thought via pengolins.

Good news is that the genetic fingerprint being similar to the last two there's been a lot of work looking for possible vaccine in universities. But coronavirus is hard to crack. They are a hardy virus and this one is showing fantastic ability to rapidly replicate inside hosts and to mutate too. UK has over 20 strains already identified.

Maybe a combination of anti virals and an anti inflammatory as a treatment will be the best hope using existing drugs rather than a universal vaccine. I think we'll see a variety of vaccines some more effective with various demographics than others.
senghenydd · M
@SW-User Obviously I'm not a medical professional what you have said sounds hopeful I only hope this can and will be beaten and will keep my fingers crossed.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
signing off speak laters Byeeeee x
olderguy2016 · 70-79, M
Both are not good.lol
I think a lot of countries are in the same boat , the mixed messages from those in charge and how they are interpreted is quiet confusing , especially in different states and territories.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Well said. Completely inadequate government was elected and we're living/dying with the consequences as a nation.
Elessar · 26-30, M
And I used to complain about Italy 🙈
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MelanieUK On the base of hospital load, % of positive swabs over total swabs, number of tests performed everyday, and daily deaths, we're getting better and better. It's already *much* better than one month ago. But our lockdown was much tighter than other countries, we'll see now that it's being lifted.
MelanieUK · 22-25, F
@Elessar wishing you luck and happiness for you all
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MelanieUK You too guys! 🇬🇧🇮🇹
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
Not sure about finished, but certainly in a state of flux... As are other countries 🤔
He is. Apparently, Johnson is, too.
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M
I can read you like a book, why exactly have you added YOURSELF to my ‘followers’ list ... let me guess, doing the ‘Leftie’ technique of contacting each person in turn and then spouting your Leftist drivel against me
