@SunshineGirl I'll save the effort of testing them now... not that many.
Honestly, I doubt that I would be passing the British Citizenship Test - and I'm British born.

@HootyTheNightOwl I revised the material to help a colleague . . now I know how many seats are there in the Scottish parliament . . 🏴

@SunshineGirl I don't even know that much... I do know that Scotland has it's own banknotes - which I currently don't have in my coin collection and plan to rectify at some point in the future, but that's about it.
For all I know now, they might have done away with the £1 note that I'm most excited to replace in my collection - then I'll deal with replacing the £1 note that was stolen from me.

I cannot be 100% behind this (being born in another country - Wales 🫣) but you have hit a very important nail on the noggin.

@SomeMichGuy I see. Yes, you're quite right the dragon's missing. It's a disgrace. And if I could bring myself to care, I do something about it. 🤣🤣

@SomeMichGuy and those aren’t even lions they are Leopards

@Julien
The leopard in heraldry is traditionally depicted the same as a lion, but in a walking position with its head turned to full face, thus it is also known as a lion passant guardant in some texts, though leopards more naturally depicted make some appearances in modern heraldry. The Oxford Guide to Heraldry makes little mention of leopards but glosses leopard as a "term used in medieval heraldry for lion passant guardant. Now used for the natural beast."[1] Another name for this beast is the ounce.[2]

The German royal family gets me every time. The male line had to change its name from Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg to Mountbatten. I guess Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg sounded a bit too German. Who would’ve thought? 😅

@Nate931 I'm reminded of the classic line by comedian Frankie Boyle:
"People say that the British Royal Family are really shape-shifting repilians.
It's far worse than that: they're actually a slightly dim German family to whom we have inexplicably given BILLIONS."

Your “chips” come from the Americas too
@AthrillatheHunt Yup, the potato!
As quoted in the famous (English ;) ) TV series Blackadder, when Sir Walter Raleigh brought home potatoes:
"They're everywhere! People are smoking them, building houses with them - they'll be eating them next!"

Well, there's one hate alright and that's none after 1966. Germany has four!
@val70 Ohh, you mean No World Wars and Four World Cups? 😂
I would LOVE England to win the World Cup next year, if only for the Supreme irony of a German manager guiding us to victory! 😂

So... all the by-products of an empire?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP If that's the Greek and Roman empires as well as the British one, I think you could be right.

@wishforthenight Where's the option for "As long as it's upside down - because you didn't learn that the "D" goes furthest from the pole"???
@HootyTheNightOwl Hey, I don't make the flow charts ;)
HootyTheNightOwl · 41-45
@wishforthenight I can't believe they even managed to get the Union Flag upside down, too... I mean, the narrower lines on the top are supposed to help you to not make that mistake - they're like arms.
