Australian Ambassador to the US Resigns
Stephie · F
Simple, short, concise and to the point!
What else can one expect from a brilliant and erudite diplomat in a country of, well, let's say, would have a lot to learn from people like him.
His services are probably much better used in places that are in need of quality people.
Now, notice how diplomatic he was when referring to the leader of the nation he was stationed at? Now that is class!

It should be noted, Rudd is returning to the Asia Society. This place deals with detailed negotiations with our largest and by far most important trading partner.. China. My guess is he has correctly judged that his estimable talents are wasted on Washington. The Asia Society is headquartered in NY..

But in the first two years of Rudd's term as ambassador to the US, he had the advantage of simply dealing with a compliant autopen; that was much easier. 🤭

@Thinkerbell If you are looking for an argument, you came to the wrong person..I am sure the next ambassador, (when we decide to appoint one) will be a second tier person who will show up for the ceremonies. Thats all you need now..😷

I almost like the guy... XD

@walabby Rudd and Turnbull had exactly the same problem. They were the smartest men in the room and their party didnt like it and couldnt keep up. A waste of two excellent Prime ministers..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman True. It's a pity that neither had the character to rein in their sense of superiority though... :(

@walabby I agree. Two massive egos..But both had the economic chops to carry it..Now if only we could have gotten the two of them in the same room to run the country without the space/time continuum breaking down. But it does reinforce my cred as being non partisan. One conservative, One Labor..Both wasted opportunities to be governed well..😷

@NativePortlander1970 By that I presume you mean most Americans? Or just most people you know? But I get it.... This is why "Yes Minister and Yes, Prime Minister were never copied across to America like so many British series..😷
* I will add this as a remedial example of "language". \

@whowasthatmaskedman Actually both were aired here on PBS. Good shows. But you are right, they were never copied for an American show .
