@CountScrofula Gazans were given their freedom in 2005 when Israel withdrew. What did they do with that freedom?
There's no secret agenda the pro-Palestinian movement is pretty open about what they want. A ceasefire and an end to the occupation.
That's debatable. Hamas does not conceal the fact that it's intent is the destruction of the State of Israel. Also, Hamas's genocidal intent is barely concealed. According to The Economist, referring to Hamas' 1988 charter advocating Israel's eradication and the UN genocide definition, Hamas can be characterized as a genocidal organization. In line with this analysis, "Hamas fighters who burst into Israel on October 7th and killed more than 1,400 Israelis (and other nationalities) were carrying out the letter of their genocidal law."
@flipper1966 That's not freedom that's an end to settlements. Israel still controlled the water and electricity and telecommunications 6 of the 7 border crossings the Palestinian population registry and and and and and...
If someone was doing that shit with my homeland I'd feel pretty occupied and I imagine that there'd be violent uprisings over it. You think if a foreign country controlled access Texas like that everyone would be peaceful and kumbaya over it?
Legal scholars have debated whether Gaza continued to be occupied after 2005. Some legal scholars hold the view that Israel's disengagement from Gaza constituted the end of occupation. And certainly, that question aside, Gazans could have devoted their energies to building their economy rather than building tunnels. They had the freedom to do that upon Israel's disengagement.
A few words more. Did I accuse you of something? Did I refuse to answer your question about the point of this post? You seem preoccupied with hidden agendas: having hidden agendas or not having them.
There's no secret agenda the pro-Palestinian movement is pretty open about what they want.
I'm not asking leading questions and then refusing to say what I'm getting at here.
On September 29, 2001, as many as 20,000 people demonstrated in Washington, D.C., United States, denouncing the impending United States invasion of Afghanistan. The protests were organized by the recently formed A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition.
Or like this?
The Fierce, Enduring Legacy of America’s Anti–Afghanistan War Protests
@MethDozer The Lemkin Institute has issued an active red flag alert for genocide by Israel against Palestinians living in Gaza. Just letting you know.

People need to properly understand the term genocide before throwing it around so freely. Killing scores of innocents is not genocide unless the purpose is to try to eradicate the entire ethnic group. The US and Israel have a tonne of Muslim citizens. They're not killing them are they? I'm not defending their external aggression, just saying, it ain't genocide.
I remember there being protests but it was more against the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan than the fear of the U.S. committing a genocide. After years of the U.S. being in Afghanistan until the withdrawal from that country in 2021, I don’t remember there ever being any more big protests for the U.S. to get out of Afghanistan, a few mentions about the war here and there, but that’s it. No wonder it was nicknamed the forgotten war.
@flipper1966 There were protests against us being in Afghanistan. But we weren’t going there as settlers displacing the people already there. Apples & oranges.
Millions protested the Afghanistan invasion, but it was already on by the morning of 9-11. I remember that the US began shelling Kabul that day. They were already in position to kill. Nobody thinks we can stop the USA! Killing is the final solution. NATO is the end and it's the devil. Satanic Murka don't need public support to kill. Murkans know.
By the way, if anyone wants to see a sobering and tragically accurate movie about the Afghanistan War, I strongly recommend "Charlie Wilson's War". It's all about the man who convinced the government to go in and pretty much destroy the Afghani infrastructure, and how distraught he was when he couldn't convince them to rebuild it.
