Is the US turning into a fascist country?

Or at least it's government.
Some observations include:
- Language around invading/seizing control of Greenland
- Direct/indirect undertones of threat towards Canada
- Disdainful attitudes from its members regarding the UK and the EU, and a general diplomatic disregard for other countries
- World wide economic coercion/blackmail with little or no care for the consequences, even to its own countries citizens financially
- The suppression and monitoring of school education, even in private schooling.
- The mass arrests/jailing and deportations of proven innocent foreign citizens

We see throughout history a trend of social and ideological cleansing, alongside economic, diplomatic, and military threats towards other nations during past fascistic regimes, and hostility towards foreign citizens often in the name of the betterment of the country in question.

What do you think?.

Unfortunately it is now the sad part is this it is Americans honestly who are suffering more than others across the globe because think about this Trump is not only deporting illegal aliens he wants to deport now God given American citizens to foreign prison. He wants to impose political ideology on learning institutions which basically amounts to book burning parties and he wants to do away with or imprison anyone who does not agree with him. Thus far he has not done very much to the worldwide population except impose ridiculous tariffs which really don't hurt anyone else except for us. He is not here to make America great again in my opinion he's actually a Manchurian Candidate working for a foreign government to sink our ass from the inside

@KingofBones1 You are telling NO jokes in that post. 😬

What about this though -
Trump is not only deporting illegal aliens he wants to deport now God given American citizens to foreign prison
Who would that include?

@Punches American citizens homegrowns as he calls them anyone that he deems as a problem whether they are naturally born citizens or not

Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) quoted Josef Goebbels in Congress, and while running for office. He is a former Army Ranger...
It’s funny..
nobody was calling america a fascist state when granma was getting locked up for preying outside an abortion clinic..

Or how only the left is allowed exercise their rights and burn loot riot and be violent.. but conservatives are extremists…

Real funny..
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout They firebombed a church across the street from the white house may 29, 2020. When Ray Epps kept goading the crowd to storm the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, they knew he was a federal agent provocateur, then FBI Director Wray refused to answer US Senators during hearings that feds were among the crowd trying to goad.
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout You should still be more careful of your spelling and grammar.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Sounds like there's some hypocrisy going on.

I don't believe Rump has the mental capacity to implement fascism in America, his goals are way way simpler, they just happen to follow the same path.
He wants to be the greatest man that ever lived, he wants to have statues built and people worshipping him, and his name to stand forever, his works taught in school. He wants to be King, a God, a Saint. He wants to be bigger than Jesus. He thinks he is good enough for all those things, and anyone that stands in his way is to be squashed/deported/unemployed/forgotten.

I am not the religious type but I do know this - Satan tried that stunt and look where he is headed.

I would dare imagine that Satan's ego is not even as big as trump's.
If no one is able to force the federal government to actually follow the law, then yes ...

They're pretty openly breaking laws now...
@sstronaut And just how exactly is that happening?
@NativePortlander1970 Courts order them to reverse their actions and they have refused.

Treasury Secretary signed off on a sharing agreement which the IRS deemed to be illegal based on privacy law.

But it really doesn't matter, as you just blindly ignore everything unless it's your own idea, so I'm not responding to your next follow up, as you'll just continue to ignore everything and most likely attempt to insult me, because you don't have any value to add. Have a good week.

This is different from fascism. Just as bad though.
@CountScrofula Count, what is different ? We may not be completely there yet, but we’re on the road…

@Nightwings @bijouxbroussard Fascism has a stronger collective sense to it. The notion that those on the "inside" are all pulling together for a common goal in the nation. Although MAGA is hyper-nationalist, there's no sense of collectivism in it, it's all strongly individualistic just with Trump worship. I think that's a vitally missing piece of the puzzle.

There is also this techno-feudalist movement brought through people like JD Vance and Peter Thiel. These ideas are the creation of independent "network states" run by CEOs. JD Vance's ideas are about splitting the US up into multiple CEO-ruled states. It's very not fascist.

There's still a LOT in common with fascism for all of the things you can easily point out, and I am kind of splitting hairs here because I think this is something old and something new at the same time. It is still very, very bad.

Seriously... where is the individual component? Because all the individuals, that dare to speak up, either get bullied into submission or removed. If you don't have "faith" in the big plan, you are a labeled with all kinds of demeaning terms. If you post your family picture, that contains a hindu wife, you get ostracized. Even "free market capitalists", are being bullied into going along with the partyline.

Nah. This is clearly Communism.
@GeistInTheMachine No, we’d have better healthcare.
Correction: we’d have healthcare.

Unfortunately, some aspects of this administration do indeed show similarities to previous fascist regimes.
