Because CA it is not "The Place to Be' since shortly after the early 2000's anyway, nor low in taxes, nor better for employment opportunities.
California is still losing Californians. It’s no mystery why

THE GREAT CALIFORNIA EXODUS: A Closer Look
The golden age of migration into the state is over. 'Since early 2000's', California has been sending more people to
other American states than it receives from them.
What has caused California’s transformation from a “pull in” to a “push out” state? The data have revealed several
crucial drivers.
One is chronic economic adversity (in most years, California unemployment is above the national
average).
Another is density: the Los Angeles and Orange County region now has a population density of 6,999.3
per square mile—well ahead of New York or Chicago. Dense coastal areas are a source of internal migration, as
people seek more space in California’s interior, as well as migration to other states.
A third factor is state and local governments’ constant fiscal instability, which sends at least two discouraging messages to businesses and individuals.
One is 'businesses and individuals' cannot count on state and local governments to provide essential services—much less, tax breaks or other incentives.
Second, chronically out-of-balance budgets can be seen as tax hikes waiting to happen.
Civic Report, No. 71 September 2012

Hahahahahaha! I've had multiple job offers paying $160k+ in Cali. I did comprehensive number crunching on cost of living. The fact is, I have more net income on the east coast making 120k, than I would in Cali making 160k.
I've done the research, multiple times. They were very attractive job offers. I turned them down every time.

Companies and citizens are fleeing the over taxation from California. If you were lucky enough to afford a 50K Tesla now you cannot charge your car due to California poor infrastructure.
Do you want to discuss the rampant acceleration of crime in CA since they refuse to prosecute?

Most conservatives are partly liberal, whether they want to admit it or not. They love to throw their anti-liberal rhetoric around a lot, calling liberalism a mental illness or comparing it to fascism, but in typical conservative fashion, they have no idea what they’re talking about.

California has the best weather but people are fleeing because its too expensive, taxes are sky-high, prices are sky-high, and there's homeless blight everywhere. In California, governments will spend spend spend on homeless, who pay zero taxes, while the people paying those taxes get zip.

SACRAMENTO — It seems only yesterday that California’s population was nearly 40 million. Then more people left the state. Now we’re not even at 39 million.
The U.S. Census Bureau reported in March that California’s population as of last July had dropped to an estimated 38,965,000. That’s down by 75,400 in a year — and 573,000 below California’s peak of 39.5 million in 2020.

Is that why business are closing and everyone is leaving?
@Adrift Hi :). Can i ask something but dont want to ask it publicly so anyone can see coz some people might make fun of me. Would appreciate it if youll send me a message so i can replay you with my question (coz for some reason i can't message first). Thanx :)
come2gether · 46-50, M
@Adrift I think you made a good call on this one. I don't even vote, so I'm not affiliated with any political party. The insanity of the post just really hit a nerve since I know the reality on the ground with my relocation research
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
That's why 150,000 people move out every year, including many celebrities
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Most conservatives can’t even afford to live there. California is a get rich state and a lot of these states that conservatives live in like the south aren’t.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F

Don't bogard that joint
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
That wont last long with increasing taxes. Newest govt scam is electric bills will be based on income. So the IRS will be sharing income data with power companies
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
@Patriot96 this is the product of essentially a one party state for years and years. When the republicans had a chance to unseat Newsom, then sent forward a far right alternative - dumb call tbh, someone more moderate would have had a much better chance. Instead we are stuck with with the status quo for years to come.

It's also pretty interesting how almost every right-wing pundit chooses to live in a blue state. 🤔
BohemianBabe · M
@Spoiledbrat First of all, if your hub is right-wing, you should be cheating on him.
Secondly, these righty pundits are rich, they can live wherever they want. So how come all of these ghouls choose to live in New York or California?

Regardless if people are leaving ,California is a place that attracts people and people still want to live in California either way so I don’t ever see California ever being abandoned.

California has the 5th largest economy in the world. But California is tough to live in if you’re not making 200k a year.
Greyjedi · M
Does it really have the best tax situation? You have fewer taxes in Washington and Oregan and especially some southern states.
