@elafina It's just the habit from times I started using Facebook and since it was the first account on a social media site that wasn't anonymous I learned to treat it with much caution. I was very surprised when I learned that people in other countries use it very differently.

@CrazyMusicLover I mean, I have people whom I might have met but don't really have had much social interaction, just that we're in common circles..

@elafina Same, I mean, people I either met or at least I know they know many people I know so they're from circles familiar to me. We don't really know each other. There are some I might not even have talked to personally, I just used to see them in college or on vernissages. If someone like that sent me a request, I usually accepted it.

Yes, what you describe is at least part of the image.
But there are IMO other factors.
Not all but plenty of performing artists have a lifetime romance with the spots as much as with their art.
In their emotional frame there may be a very narrow space for a partner and even their kids.
Thinking on it so much years after I would say that besides best intentions it sometimes is a problem of compatibility.

@SinlessOnslaught we can never know. It must be hard for them though. Everyone would believe they're a catfish, none can believe they're real...

@elafina It was back when reverse image search wasn't easy. Supposedly I was talking to some TV celeb on Kik but they didn't really go out of their way to make it obvious that it was them, and their profile pics were just super casual, not like photoshoots or anything.
