Why do guys try to prove their masculinity when girls come around?

I’ve always wondered why. is it like, instinctual or something? Lol or is it on purpose?
The same reason we show our cleavage , legs and ass.

It’s kinda obvious really. It’s what they’re programmed to do. It’s like us and pumpkin spice.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@Morvoren Just choked on my drink when I read that. 😆😆😆

It was not a pumpkin spice beverage.
i often wondered if there were no men on the planet, would women wear makeup?

I certainly did that when I was an athletic teenager. I stopped after I married and no longer tried to catch a woman's attention.
Court69 · M
yes for thousands of years testosterone drives males to attract and fight to secure their mate

It's basically due to the gender divide and rule, that starts from childhood where each have their own world and lifestyle. So many activities also are exclusive to gender like girlish and boyish..

So they are not used to girls amidst or lack experience in approaching a girl appearing all of a sudden.

But it's really not masculinity or machoism , but just pulling up together from casual to conscious state. Also most girls are well dressed while guys are casual..

I think it’s just how they’re made. Probably very primal. Sometimes sexy when they aren’t too assy about it.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
It's part of the instinctive mating ritual humans have programmed into their genes.
MarcusMayhem · 26-30, M
It’s usually down to insecurity and lack of maturity.

It's primitive and instinctual—their breeding impulse. Females tend to choose the most robust and appealing male among all mammalian and aviary species in nature. Humans are no different, and males instinctively know this. So they show off for us, and we wear tight clothes and makeup and do our hair for them—because we like them to want us, too.
Because womens gravitate to the alpha..

These “guys” you mention sound very insecure.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Yes of course, that is our instinct.
Baaaaaaaa · 26-30, M
It's on purpose. Except when it isn't

Peacock style.

There dormant state is a loser so they have to compensate to get attention.
It's true, this seems to be trend now a days, but a decent and sensible guy would never do that
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
I suspect it is kind of like the way women dress to get attention from men. Most often strangers.
MrGoodbar · 51-55, M
very much instinctual. The one's that are obvious about it are the ones that have the most issues
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
Back it was pretending to be a boi it never did this, it doesn't get Men....
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
Reptile brain response. The lower the IQ the more they'll respond like that.
Rokan · 31-35, M
What does that mean? Like if a girl came over i would go outside and chop wood?
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
Probably because it would be too weird trying when other guys come around. 🤭
Teslin · M
I'm too old to worry about that.
I just try to be myself.
Rambler · 61-69, M

Stop saying ALL guys do that!!

It's teen male behavior...fueled by testosterone.
kamikaze2891 · 31-35, M
