My female friend slept with her boss to get promotion ?? Who is at fault here..boss or my female friend

Top | New | Old
HumanEarth · F
Let’s be real

This situation sucks, but the blame should fall mostly on the boss. He’s the one in power, and that changes everything. Even if your friend agreed to it, when your boss holds your career in their hands, it’s not really a fair choice. That’s how exploitation starts.

Most women don’t “sleep their way to the top”, they work their butts off and still get passed over. The idea that women get ahead this way is an old myth that just makes it harder for women to be taken seriously. If anything, this kind of thing ruins reputations and makes people doubt whether someone earned their position.

At the end of the day, the boss broke the rules. He should know better. He’s the one who can get fired for this, and for good reason. It’s not about shaming your friend, it’s about holding the person with power accountable. That’s how we make workplaces fairer for everyone.

There was probably an attraction on both sides and it worked out for her.
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
The guy who took pictures
BlueVeins · 26-30
both, mostly the boss
Perhaps she already entertained fantasies of doing the boss and when the opportunity presented itself to also receive a promotion she took his cock and ran with it.

Win/Win for both ! ;)

Only her if your friend is much older than her boss
hunkalove · 70-79, M
If she's in government, then the boss. If she's in business, then that's lIfe.
Royrogers · 61-69, M
@hunkalove in government the higher the grade more likely she will get away with it especially if it’s the labour lot
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Royrogers Really? Any evidence?
Royrogers · 61-69, M
@ArishMell this is just my opinion which I am entitled to

Both. It's Coldplay kisscam esque.
Don't hate the players, hate the game.
iwishuwerehere · 61-69, M
Why does someone have to be at fault ?
Sounds like they both got what they wanted
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@iwishuwerehere Ah, but did she want promotion by that means?
iwishuwerehere · 61-69, M
@ArishMell apparently she did. She was just using what she had to get what she wanted. What’s wrong with that?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@iwishuwerehere Depends on her, as well as his, self-respect but also suggests she might not have been suited to the work itself. I wonder if her manager even considered her ability.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Depends. Did she get the promotion?
pdockal · 56-60, M
Are you jealous ?
Softandsweet2 · 36-40, F
Who’s to say anyone is. Did she get promoted? If so, it’s a win win.
Neither. Sounds like an even trade.🤷🏾
Did she get promoted? If she didn't she can remind her boss that he also has a boss who may be interested in what happened.
Be somewhere safe when she tells him cause we have seen this scenario in countless crime stories.

both unless they are both single 😒
Mellomarsha · 61-69, F
Not sure until I've had a look at the boss.
Dude5678 · M
@Mellomarsha he is in his fifties
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Both. Or human frailty.

You can discount the later either, which so many apparently do.

Both greed and lust are apart of humanity. It doesn't make either right or wrong. It just is. And balance of trade by itself is greed on both parties.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@DeWayfarer They are wrong when used against others, which in this case may have been to gain an unfair promotion advantage.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@ArishMell There are multiple reasonings on this post. It's all depends on the circumstances. Which is why I gave so many view points.
Bleak · 36-40, F
Honestly, both are at fault. The boss is a loser for abusing his position, and your friend chose the shortcut instead of earning it. Neither comes out looking good.
lissah · 36-40, F
She could have said no
@lissah exactly.... Unless she wanted to in the first place to get the promotion by seducing her boss.
It's nothing new, alot of women do that in corporate
Northwest · M
Why isn't she filing a lawsuit?
@Northwest Oh you know how that goes.
"Did you smile at him?"
"Did you kiss him?"
"Did you touch his private parts?"
"Did he touch your private parts?"
"Did you do it more than once?"
"Did you shave any of your private parts for him?"
"Tell everyone in the court and the media in detail how it all went down"
Northwest · M
@PoohSmasher have you heard of the MeToo movement?
Gumbodidlo · 61-69, C
Why would either be at fault?
@Gumbodidlo Not supposed to play with the fruit you are picking, and never take a bite out of it.
Gumbodidlo · 61-69, C
@PoohSmasher what's the point of picking the fruit then
@Gumbodidlo Because without the fruit you have no income. The fruit is for everyone else, not for you.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
The boss. He was in a position of authority and trust and he used his power in an unethical way. He won't secure good employees and he won't be respected either.
Ramrod · 46-50, M
Neither, they both made a choice, then they deal with the aftermath ????

Both, but the boss is stupid because all she has to say is he manipulated her and he's toast.
Areebah · 46-50, F
onewithshoes · 26-30, F
No victim no crime, perhaps, but it doesn't say much for either of them as people.😯
swirlie · 31-35, F
@onewithshoes
You are assuming this took place to enable a promotion of sorts. How do you know that the two of them weren't simply in 'lust' with each other and a potential promotion for her had nothing to do with it?
