I killed a vulture

It wasn’t intentional. Several vultures flew right into the road and I hit one. Add this to the squirrel from 10 years ago (that still makes my stomach turn when I think about the sound and feeling of running over it) and I’m almost a serial animal killer.

I kept driving. In the rear view I saw the bird lying on the road, its giant black wingspan completely filling up one lane.

Vultures are nasty Birds by nature but they do serve a very critical purpose, sometimes birds make that mistake I hit a quail doing about 60 and did not realize that I had hit it until I parked at Walmart it was stuck in my grill so I gently removed it put it in a spare shopping cart and left it there and went and bought my groceries. Things happen in the world it doesn't mean that you're a bad person it just means that bird was unlucky. Some sprouts only grow shorter than others it's a fact of life that is actually why vultures were created amongst other animals to clean up the ones that don't

@Fallflower and if in the service of my country I have hunted men?
Fallflower · 46-50, F
@KingofBones1 As a certified man hater I don’t mind that at all either… jkjk
I honestly can’t imagine how that changes you. thank you for your service.

My two least favorite times of the year are when in spring, it rains and the frogs come out at night to cross the road to get to the river. I will literally swerve all over to avoid them.

The next is right now when all the fuzzy bear caterpillars cross the road. Again, i will do everything possible to not run them over.

I used to drive on a lot of rural roads and I tried to avoid animals crossing the road, even snakes. I felt bad every time I hit one. Fortunately, I missed most of them.

I have seen a vulture swooping down low to light down on roadkill in a ditch. When they see food they don’t worry about traffic.

@Matt85 Well, they could post signs like Caution: Low flying Vultures. They do it for horse and deer crossings, why not low flying vultures?
I'm sure it's vulture friends cleaned the mess from the road 🍽
